Simpoints
« on: February 02, 2013, 01:44:33 PM »
I decided to start a new game playing a solo sim to more quickly experience gardening and fishing without having to worry about a family.

In my original game I spent 500 simpoints on the MultiTab 6000 so that all my sims could multitask and learn skills while completing another activity. In my new game, the MultiTab 6000 is still locked. I definitely don't want to buy it again, so my question is, are sim store items unlocked for each individual game or am I missing something?

I only have the original free points, and definitely don't want to waste them on a game by game basis. :-(

The Store Content you buy should be available in the entire game, not just particular save games. In your original file are you still able to use the MultiTab?

Ah it's working now - maybe I just needed to restart the game.

Any tips on what to spend my last 500 simpoints on? I'm torn between The Not So Routine Machine or something fun like The Hypnotizer which adds new functionality.

I have both items and to be honest I don't really use either of them, Lol. In this Board here you should find all the threads for the Store Sets or Premium Content that has been released.  :)

The Not So Routine Machine is here and the Hypnotizer is here. Of those two items I would say the Not So Routine Machine is more useful but that there are other more useful Premium Content items available. Like expansion packs it is personal opinion so the best and only way to decide it to see what the content offers and what the reviews are.  :)

My advice is don't spend them yet.  They will stay available indefinately.

I wasted my free points on some items which I have never used.

Since then I have purchased a few 1000 point bundles and still managed to buy some items which I hardly ever use.

My two best purchases were the "multi-tab" and the "stonesthrow greenhouse".  It is not the greenhouse which I find really useful, though it is nice to have and probably more useful if you also have Season's EP.  It is the "Swift grow garden station" and to a lesser extent, the "plants vs zombies sunflower" which I find really worthwhile.  Currently, I think it is only possible to buy the three gardening items as a collection and you would have to buy some extra points to buy the collection.  (I paid 1,700 points for this).  I don't know if they will eventually become available seperately.

I suggest, wait until you find something you are sure you want and if necessary, buy a few more points in order to get it.

To add to what Wai has said, I would also save your points. New stuff is constantly coming out, as well as older stuff going on sale, and there is the daily deal. You may be able to get the items you want for a lower simpoint price, and have points left over for something else that catches your eye.
