Going on from this;  does anyone else think that it would be a nice touch, if, beside each entry, the abbreviated expansions used were declared (example: A, WA, P, SN, S) so that participants could see how well they did in comparison to those with a similar configuration. I would love to know how my scores compared to others on an equal footing.  Without this information, unless the player has all the EP's, the scores are  meaningless.

I understood that these chellenges were for everyone regardless of their EP's.

The way the goal is worded, it appears to exclude those who do not own "Pets" which is why at least one possible entrant thought that they were excluded.

Perhaps a slight change to the wording of the goal would be helpful.   Just a suggestion.  Perhaps it would be clearer if it read "up to 3 different household members - a Young Adult, a Baby, and (if available) a Pet.  Or something similar.

I'll talk it over with Rica and Rachel and we'll see what we can do. Thank you for the suggestion.

Too much information for the leaderboard. Sure it would great if everyone had all the expansions, but that is not going to happen and I'm sorry, but your suggestion will not be implemented.

EDIT:

Okay...hopefully this edited rule will make it clear for everyone that having the Pets expansion is NOT a requirement...

  • Only 3 household members may be scored — your starting Young Adult Sim, one Sim that starts as a Baby and must never age up to a Young Adult, and one Pet. Note: If you do not have the Pets expansion you can still participate by simply scoring your two Sims.

Thank you Metro. I do apologize for my post causing all this drama. It was never my intention. I am happy that others without the Pets expansion will not have to wonder if they can successfully compete in this particular challenge, but now I kinda feel like the problem child, lol.

We all get to be the problem child at one point or another.  One reason why they encourage us to ask questions, and we can always ask why.  Not only does it help everyone else who might not post their question, but it also helps validate the reasoning behind the rules.  :)

How are we supposed to work out which memories are unique? My sim on another file has 36 memories, but it only counts 13 of them as unique. Taking away double-ups, there are still more than 13 different ones.

All you need to concern yourself with is the Unique Memories stat in the scrapbook. How you go about obtaining those is strategy and not open for discussion at this time.

Can anyone tell me how to turn the memories back on so I'm notified in the corner of the screen each time I obtain a memory.  I turned it off when I first starting playing because I thought it was annoying and now I want it on to help me keep track.

Thanks :)

@Noocherenee
Under the game options the third tab with the picture of two gears called General Settings, look below the check boxes where it says Memories.  There is a dropdown box with memory and notification options.

[Removed - Ricalynn]

Also it says we have to start with a baby....but the youngest in CAS is toddler.  Is that what you mean?

I'm fairly sure that if it says baby, it means baby and that toddler is different to baby.

Edit: I think you need to re-read the specific challenge rules, Noocherenee

Actually - it says Create 1 Young Adult Sim.   I removed the other part as it was close to strategy talk.  Answer incoming via PM.

The rules have been changed to add that time spent at University will also count towards your 18 days of vacation.   If you send two Sims to University for 7 days each, that is 14 days of vacation used.
