Yes.

I'm so glad we could do the magic gnomes idea. This is lots of fun!

Yes, Chuckles...thank you for getting the cobwebs out of my head and reminding me to give props where props are due — the whole gnomes idea was indeed yours so I want everyone to know that. The team does listen to new ideas and we really appreciate it. I just added my own twist with the Romantic Interests to add something really different that has never been done before so it should be lots of fun. Thanks again for this idea. :)

The practice file for this is going to be such a welcome distraction from the nooboos, eek. There are so many gnomes I've never gotten!

No worries Metro! The romantic interests does indeed give it a good twist. I was just so excited that you liked the gnome idea and we get to play it. I was so excited that it could be used that I facebooked it haha.

I was having so much fun practising this one last night I didn't go to bed until 1:30am. Bad move when the kiddies were up at crack of dawn! Then I dreamed I had a magic gnome in my own backyard.... it had a cowboy hat and a machete, so I was a little concerned about its motives.

Finally, a good reason to use the gnome hat in CAS.  Super excited to do something that doesn't have anything to do with babies.

Also one small question.  Is encorseling (however you spell it) allowed?

My guess would be only if they are a romantic interest, as ensorcelling is considered adding to the household. EDIT but then again, maybe not, as the rules say kicked out, not moved out, not released etc.

Ensorcelling is not allowed.  You must move in an RI, give them a gnome and kick/move them out in the space of as many minutes as it takes your computer to load up the moving screen twice in a row.

If you kick them out and you get the gnome back, delete it/sell it/whatever.  It's type is now on the list and cannot be used again for the challenge.

During my practice run, I've kept each gnome with the owner's graduation certificate in my inventory in front of my own sim's, that way I can tell which ones I've used. It saves having to write things down. Note that if you travel, however, it will get rearranged, so you may want to throw them on the lawn before you go.

I use the idea I saw on here for one of the other challenges, which is to use the bio section to keep a list. I update it before each save so I know where I'm up to when I get back on.

That's exactly what I'm doing inside Baby Boomer :) (Though I update it every time I move somebody out, to keep everything straight in my brain)

It works. Like you say, it's about knowing where you're up to... connect it to the game and there's no chance of confusion.

Just a question.

unique gnome

Does this mean each gnome has to be of a different kind (such as inventor gnome, horse gnome and so on) or that there has to be 20 different gnomes?

They all have to be different type as in what they're called is different so the first suggestion.   Magical Gnome of Inventing, Magical Gnome of Sculpting, Mysterious Mr Gnome, etc. 20 gnomes isn't the number you have to get though.  It was just an example.   You're trying to get as many different and unique gnomes as possible.

Does different colored Gnome of the Darned count as unique gnomes or as the same one?
