Traveling Lag

I have experienced this problem many discouraging times already. The first family I created with the World Adventures expansion installed has been living for a very long time and then one day decided to travel to France. The loading time was a success even though it took a very long time (around thirty minutes) before the family finally arrived in France. I played around in the country and then it was time to go home. So the games started loading for the return trip. I waited for an hour and still the screen was still loading.

So I finally gave up and started again. This time, I tried playing as an adventurer with the Seasoned Traveller LTW to fulfill. At the first few weeks, travelling back and forth was fine until at some later time, the game hung up on me again.

Is there anything I can do to save my first family and have them safe and sound at Sunset Valley and also to be able to travel without worrying if the system will hang?

Are you talking about this problem always happening in the same game file?  Or is it happening in others?  One thing that may be contributing to the problem is the fact that you've been playing the file for a long time.  The files get bigger and bigger as you go along and that can cause slow loading times.  What about when you open the game and it loads your main town?

Yes, this also happens in the other game files. That was what I was thinking too, because I've observed that when the games is beyond around Week 20 or so, the game usually hangs when I try to return home from travelling to France, China or Egypt.

One solution that I made for my Sim which has a LTW of Seasoned Traveller is to save a copy of the family every Week 1 and then starting a new game and using the saved family. This worked and I was able to finish the LTW.

But I am having trouble with the LTW of Great Explorer in finishing it because although the Advenutre Journal will continue with the latest adventure, I can't do the same solution as above since the countries also start fresh once I start a new game. It happened that I had an ongoing adventure in the Temple of Heaven in China and I started a new game and when I went back to China I couldn't enter the temple anymore because I didn't have the previous key.
