Keeping skills when exporting Sim
« on: January 27, 2013, 11:33:52 AM »
I was wondering if it was possible to export a Sim with all of their skills? Say I make an elder sim, and in his bio I make him a retired doctor, I of course will use nrass to change the skills and max the lifetime wish, but then I want to export him and his family for someone to use. Do I just export from the game and skills and lifetime wish is saved, as well as career. I am wondering because when I installed Union Cove, I saw that several Sims that populated the map had skills like athletic at 3 or so, so I was wondering how to do that, to give a sim to someone with skills in tact as well as job and lifetime wish.

Thanks in advance.
Tranquil

PS, according to Delphys custard and dashboard, the Union Cove file is corrupt. I loved the town, inhabitants not so much. But it being corrupt makes me leery to use when my save games have been annihilated by corrupt CC.

This is not true and I am asking you not to spread disinformation. UC is CC free, made without even a pattern that is not EA made. If you don't like it that is your right and choice, but spreading disinformation like this is forbidden on our forum.

You can export your Sim with skills and items as a household from Edit Town or bin.

My apologies, I am not trying to spread rumors or bad information, it is not my intent to discredit the amount of work that went into UC. I was simply asking a question and mentioning something I noticed. When I loaded UC in my game I had no issues, it did not crash or cause any problems. I was simply wondering if maybe Delphys custard and dashboard may not be reading it right? I have seen other worlds come up the same, as well as sims themselves being considered corrupt as a package in a package error. If liked I can take a screen shot of what I saw and personally email it to someone so that it can be figured out on your end. I am new and was not trying to start any type of bad message at all. UC is an amazing build!

Thanks for the input on saving sims with skills, most appreciated.

Respectfully and apologetically,
Tranquil

Thank you Tranquil, we had all kind of accusations in the past and I and the rest of the team do take them personaly. I apreciate your apologie and good intentions.
About Custard, it is aparently marking some things as corrupted even if they are not, including thumbnails.
When UC was shared, we have people reporting all kind of things, and on official site, on page 7, you can read what Writing_reg wrote about the world and the Custard. (Her last post on this page and one on the next) I remember reading somewhere that all populated worlds are marked as corrupted, so that is not really most reliable way to check worlds, and specially not to make conclusions.

I am glad that your main question is covered as well.

Ana,
Ty for understanding, last thing I want is to make an entire community mad. That thread helped a lot in understanding what it shows. I read so many threads that said Custard and Dashboard are not wrong when it shows corrupted in one way or another, yet most downloaded sims and worlds show that way. With reviews like what I have read now, I feel more confident in using UC. ;D

Again thanks for the advice on saving sims with skills in tact.

What thread would I go to for advice on removing stubborn cc from a .dbc file? Blasted Dolormite kitchen. >:(
