Chapter 67 - Returning Firefighter Grandmother Bree only told me about the vision after the party had ended. She had seen the images, and heard the voice, while spinning for hours on end in her impressive grandmother-of-the-bride attire.
Hi, Bree! This is Rosalia Elysi, your aunt. Well, not the Rosalia Elysi that you know--I'm an alternate universe version! How cool is that? At any rate, I ended up in Moonlight Falls on my young adult birthday, through a portal that opened up at the Weather Totem. I was transported to the Fairy Atrium in Moonlight Falls, with someone else who happened to be at the same place at the same time.
I became a gardener, while Freddie plays guitar in the park. We never have much money at a time, but somehow, little by little, we ended up with a large house next to the Atrium where we met. It seemed a wonderful time to begin having children.
Tara, the firstborn, has always been fascinated with world culture, particularly the east. With the right hairstyle, she actually resembles my great-grandniece, Iris Bianca! However, Tara is the most ambitious of our children, and aspires to become a famous chef.
The next pregnancy ended in twins. Bethany is the most popular girl in our school, and has multitudes of (male) admirers. She's the town flirt, but only because everyone likes her! At any rate, she resembles her father in the best possible way, with Mom's hair. I think she looks a lot like Freddie's descendant, Allegra.
Becky, on the other hand, looks more like me (with Freddie's eyes) and is a musical, edgy rebellious sort. We're having a little difficulty with her at the moment, but I'm sure she'll mellow out as soon as she's a little older.
The twins spend their weekends at the park, where Bethany watches and comments on Becky's guitar-playing.
Although, of course, Bethany spends much less time watching her sister than flirting with the MacDuff boys!
As for Tara? She's busy having an affair with Gator Wolff, married descendant of the town founders.
The affair quickly evolved into a divorce and remarriage, on Gator's part, to young fairy Tara Classic. Which reminds me--I'm late for a baby shower!
With that, the vision ended and Grandmother Bree rushed over to interrupt the blogging war.
She left the decision of whether or not to tell Rosalia up to me. Naturally, this meant I got no sleep at all on the eve of my bachelorette party, and soon gave up and spent the evening bathing. In the end, I made the choice to not mention this unusual vision. It might make Rosa attempt to access this alternate universe, which would be impossible without the assistance of a transdimensional specialist--like me, for example.
In the morning I dragged Bubba into our room to tutor him in universal physics. He wouldn't have complied, except for the fact that I had just gotten out of bed and--well, the rest is quite self-explanatory.
He disappeared soon enough, to prepare himself for my bachelorette party.
The rest of his afternoon was spent chasing my mother with a bottle of fizzy nectar, but, fortunately for him, the vast majority of the nectar ended up in her mouth so he was still alive at the end of the party.
"
Seriously, though--may I have your permission to marry your daughter?"
"
Well, usually I'd say no, but I'm feeling a little dizzy and my mom passed down a genetic intolerance for juice and nectar, so I can't see why not."
Juana came, of course! I was so happy to see my best friend for the first time in ages--I got her opinion on Bubba, who she thought was dreamy, and we talked all about our high school days.
Juana did most of the talking about our high school days, actually. I should have known it was a mistake to ask her to make the toast!
Mother's old flame, Brad Bond, was called in to put out fires and spent the entire night trying to flirt with me. Bubba thought the whole thing was hilarious, but ended up driving Mr. Bond away with a bottle of nectar. I love it when he's jealous!
As for Rosa? She dumped her actor boyfriend for a guy who really has had a crush on her forever. You remember Donte Clemons, right?
