Chapter 9. The toddler years

The toddler years are pretty hectic.  Lots of training to get done.  First up potty training.

Snickerdoodle works on her peg box skills.

I think both of the teddy bears I bought the girls were turned into vampire gnomes.  I had bought Snickerdoodle a werewolf and Shortbread a fairy bear.  But that's okay because both girls got imaginary friends.  Here is Shortbread with Cosmo.  (Snickerdoodle has Wanda.)

The parents trade off on who trains each girl, so that each can bond with both.

We get another burglar.  This time he gets away with a candy tree and ice cream statue.

Daddy and sissy join Snickerdoodle in the skill learnin'.

Poor, little Shortbread passes out after seeing daddy turn into a werewolf during the full moon.  She's also not too found of Bonehilda.

Snickerdoodle doesn't seem to mind her.  Now if only Bonehilda wouldn't pull sleeping toddlers out of their cribs.

Mom and Dad decided to take the holiday off and go to a feast party at Dwayne Wolff's, leaving Bonehilda to take care of the girls.  According to Dwayne, the proper attire for a feast party on Snowflake Day is swimwear.

All of the other occults are always wanting to "get to know" Pep better.

Gladsten has a snowball fight with his old friend.  It's hard to maintain a friendship with two little ones at home.

Here's the mandatory were-toddler picture of Snickerdoodle howling at the moon.

Pep upgrades her greenhouse.

And before they know it, it's the girls birthday.  Snickerdoodle is up first.  She rolls the disciplined trait.

Next it's Shortbread's turn.  She becomes eco-friendly like her mommy.

Time to head to the dresser for makeovers!

Snickerdoodle Saccharine (heir)
Subtype: werewolf
Traits: absent minded, grumpy, disciplined

Shortbread Saccharine (spare)
Subtype: fairy
Traits: neurotic, loves the heat, eco-friendly

Oh, goodness they're both so cute!  I didn't realize toddlers would have the scared reactions to weres and bony, because they're so little, but it's adorable that they do.  I tend to shelve Bonehlida if my neurotic Sim is home just to avoid finding her fleeing with her arms flailing all over the place when she really needs to eat and use the toilet.

I kept her shelved until Snickerdoodle was done with toddler requirements, because I didn't want them interrupted.  Then I tried dismissing her when she kept pulling the sleeping kiddos out of their cribs, but she wouldn't go away.  Shortbread went and slept in the fairy house, but Bonehilda kept Snickerdoodle in her arms until 5am when she was fully exhausted.

If she's potty trained, she can "use potty" and Boney should put her down. Have an adult standing by to put her in the crib when she's done. Last thing you want is for the heir to get taken by the social worker...

Bonehilda would pick put her down when I told her to, Pep would pick her up and put her back in the crib.  Then Bonehinda would go get and get Shortbread.  Repeat, repeat, repeat.  And poor Pep needed to go to bed herself, so eventually I gave up.  Bonehilda finally put Snickerdoodle back in the crib at 5 am when she was fully exhausted.

When I couldn't get Bonehilda to go away I tried resetting her and eventually deleted her coffin.

Chapter 10.  The twin's childhood

The girls spend the day after their birthday playing tag and bonding.  Come Monday, they have to start school.

After getting home from school, Dad plays catch with Snickerdoodle.

Wait, shouldn't our little heir be doing her homework?  That's better.

The girls continue to play with those weird dolls they got sent from a distant relative.

Tuesday, after a field trip to the cemetery, I remember to sign the girls up for scouts.  The full moon causes Snickerdoodle to have first werewolf transformation as a child.

The girls sit outside the school, finishing up their homework before heading home to sleep.

A paparazzi dies on the front porch.  The girls rush outside to see the action.

On Love Day, with the day off from school, the girls hope on their bikes and head over to the Spring Festival.

They get their faces painted.  Shortbread wanted to be a bunny, and Snickerdoodle asked for the tiger but ended up more of a baby ... something that's not very family friendly.  Poor Snickerdoodle.  She was the one who had the wish to get her face painted, and the poor result didn't even fulfill her wish.

Shortbread wanted to play horseshoes so the girls gave it a go.

Snickerdoodle meets Gator Wolff.

Shortbread tries out the claw machine.

Friday night, Snickerdoodle gets the opportunity to collect some butterflies for school.  Saturday is also the girls teen birthday.

Saturday, Shortbread spends the day baking.

Snickerdoodle heads out in search of butterflies.

She tries transforming into a werewolf to see if that helps her hunt.

She finds everything but the Mission Blue Butterfly.  It never spawned around town that day.

And it's birthday time!  Shortbread went first this time.

Shortbread Saccharine (spare)
Traits: neurotic, loves the heat, eco-friendly, natural cook

Snickerdoodle heads home, and has to transform back into human before she can have her birthday.

Snickerdoodle Saccharing (heir)
Traits: absent minded, grumpy, disciplined, coward

---

So, that's it.  I failed.  Snickerdoodle was probably a day short making honor roll.  Her grade was up to an A Tuesday night, but I guess she only had an A at school on Wednesday and Friday.  She also, wasn't able to fulfill an opportunity.  I forgot to sign her up for an after school activity on the first day of school.

I didn't expect to fail until the teen years.  I've never been successful at making my teens have after school jobs.  I normally have them quit the job or just never get one, because it's hard to have time to get homework done with all the stress from work.

I'm not sure if should just keep going anyways.  I don't really care about making into the Hall of Fame.  This just my first attempt at actually challenging myself to try one of these challenges.  I normally get bored with my families in the 3rd generation or so, and never challenge myself to have my sims "super max" skills.

If you don't care about Hall of Fame, I say definitely continue. I accidentally disqualified myself for Hall of Fame but I was invested and so were my readers so I decided to keep going. You can still challenge yourself to do everything else.

I think I did five separate things to disqualify myself from the HoF, and I'm still (slowly) going on. I say go on. The child requirements are really awful, though. :(

Sorry, guys this game got too big to fast and then kept crashing.  It would crash after less than a minute of being in the save.  Recently, I got the game to stay open long enough for me to enter town mode and save the household (I also uploaded them to the exchange for anyone who is interested).  I then deleted the whole save, because I think it was bad.  Maybe I'll move them to a new town, or start them over in the same one, one of these days.  (Part of me wants to the move them Aurora Skies, because it looks like it has the same type of feeling as Moonlight Falls, while being all new shiny to me, but I can't actually justify buying it, lol.  I can't think of another world I think they'd fit in other Moonlight Falls.  Maybe Hidden Springs?  I do have that one.)

I've started another life states dynasty with a vampire living Lucky Palms, but I haven't gotten too far in that game yet.  If I decide to share that one with y'all, I'll want to get further ahead in the story first, so I don't make the same mistakes again.

I understand. It's disappointing, but I don't blame you. Good luck on your new try!
