Hi y'all.  I guess I'm a nooboo around here.  I used to a member a while back, but I'm more of a lurker by nature, so I was never very active on the boards.  And then my account must have been deleted due to inactivity.  But I was able to get my username back!  Yay!  Now, I'm challenging my self to actually attempt one of the challenges you all put together here.

I literally just got Seasons, Supernatural, & Sweet Treats so a lot of the game play is going to be new to me.  I also haven't played too much with World Adventures, so some of that is still new to me as well.  This challenge should give me an opportunity to further explore all those new elements.  (I now own all of the expansion packs except for Showtime, and the only stuff packs I have are Outdoor Living and, now, Sweet Treats.  I also have some store stuff.)

I know a lot of people aren't fond of the Katy Perry Sweet Treats Stuff pack, but I kind of like the ridiculousness of it and think it fits in with this fairy tale challenge, so get ready for a lot of it!  I also want to add the requirement that all heirs be female (so they can wear the ridiculous Katy Perry clothes), but I don't know if that is allowed.

Chapter 1. Peppermint settles into life in Moonlight Falls

Peppermint Saccharine (or Pep for short) had always dreamed of a place where the occult would be more accepted.  She hoped Moonlight Falls would be that place.  She had a taste for bright colors and sweet treats.  Moonlight Falls was a little more dark than she had hoped for, but perhaps her and progeny could bring a little color to the place.

She built herself a nice little shack.  This should do for now, she thought.  Just a little bathroom and her fairy house.

She went to the library to see what she could learn about plants.  She really loved plants.  And just being outdoors in general.  Everything just felt right when she was one with nature.  She did not like taking a cab to library though.  She'd have to do something about that.

So she bought herself a bike.

Showing off her fairy magic.  This mailbox is definitely in need of some fairy magic.  It's not nearly colorful enough.

The next day, with all her new found knowledge, she started her garden.

She decided to go check out what this Summer Festival was all about.  There she met three sims, all whom have signs compatible with hers.  She wasn't really looking forward to meeting a spouse, since she is a little weary of commitment, but it was something she would have to do eventually.

Once at the fairgrounds, the first sim she saw was Violet Slymer.

Time for a quick break to harvest some produce before getting back to socializing.

The next sim she met was werewolf, Param Singh.  She learned he was a hopeless romantic, ambitious, and a workaholic.  Sounds good.  And then he mentioned his fiancée.  Oh well.  She wasn't sure she was looking to be more than friends with anyone yet anyways.

Last she met a human, Alfredo Waterman.  Single, but again, human.  And Pep had come here to meet some non-humans.

Unfortunately, even though all three were compatible signs, the only one she felt any attraction to was Violet.  Maybe Violet would settle for being her best friend?  Pep hoped so.

After all that hard work socializing, it was time for some hard earned ice cream.

Pep worked on her garden some more the next morning and was greeted by a stray cat.  Being animal friendly, Pep wanted to befriend it, but it ran off too soon.  She soon got an opportunity to deliver 5 excellent quality plums to the grocery store.  Hmmm, where can I get some plums or their seeds to plant?  A trip to China may be in her near future.

She headed down to city hall to register as a self-employed gardener.  She might as well get recognized for her gardening efforts.

While in that part of town she stopped into the grocery store to see what they had she could plant.  She left empty handed, waiting for her trip abroad instead.

After a quick shower at the fire station, it was time to check the fair grounds again.  Pep really hoped to see Violet again.

And there she was.  The two chatted until it got dark and became fast friends.  Pep really hopes to become even better friends Violet someday.

First off, welcome!

Second off, nice to see a use for Sweet Treats. You're right about it strangely fitting a Life States Dynasty. Time to see some candy-coated vampires. ;D

I think a vampire might look the weirdest candified out of all of the life states, but that might just make it the most awesome.

I agree with Trip, a candy coated vampire must be seen. 8) Great start and good luck!

Always glad to see a new Life States Dynasty! I am a fan of all the candy from KPST (I just built a gingerbread house with it) so I look forward to seeing more!

I played for much too long without saving last night, so none of this counts, but I wanted to share it with y'all anyways.  I'm going to write in a italics to differentiate it from the rest of the story.  I hope that isn't too obnoxious.

Chapter 2.  Pep has a dream

Dear Journal,

I was so anxious for my trip to China last night, that I tossed in turned in bed and was barely able to fall asleep.  Which led to me having the most vivid dream.  I dreamed of my adventures to come:

I worked on my gardening:

I picked wildflowers:

I tried some fairy tricks on some unsuspecting locals:

I visited ancient relics:

I explored hidden tombs:

It even gave me an excuse to try out my swimwear!

But, my dream didn't stop there it continued after I got home.  I had my first zombie visitor:

He attacked one of my plants.  That idea of that makes me sick to my stomach.  How can someone attack a poor defenseless plant?  That reminds me, I'm going to to have install some sort of defense system.

I vastly expanded my garden:

It was just so beautiful!  I'm really sad that's not real.

I met someone:

I haven't been as attracted to someone as much as I was to him, since Violet.

I wonder how my friend Violet is doing anyways.  I haven't seen her since the Summer Festival.  I wish I had her number.  But I guess ghosts don't have cell phones.  I suppose it would be hard for her to carry one.  When you can walk through walls, I guess your pockets probably won't hold anything.  Maybe she'll be at the Fall Festival.  I sure hope so.

As we became better friends, I invited him to move in:

He agreed.  And brought his cat...

I mean seriously?  How hot is he?  Just look at all that man fur!  Yum!

When he heard about my destiny, he even asked one of his good friends to turn him:

He did kind of look like he was born to be werewolf didn't he?  I think it's pretty safe to say we both had feelings for each other, but neither of us ever admitted it in my dream.  And then my alarm went off!  Stupid alarm!

Anyways, my flight is landing now, so I gotta go.  I'll let you know how trip to China goes.  I hope it will be as fruitful (hehe) as it was in my dream.

Love Always,
Pep

That was a lovely dream.  Hopefully she'll find her hot werewolf in real life this time.

I think ultimately I need to turn my dynasty's house into a gingerbread house.

I definitely think you should. And don't worry, it's not obnoxious at all, I've seen other people do similar things. Tilia here has "crash dreams" in her dynasty. The garden really was lovely, too bad it didn't save. But I think I should warn you, when I tried to lock that particular gate against zombies it didn't work. So check that before a full moon! I used to get really mad when my game crashed or didn't save, and I still do sometimes if I accomplished a lot or things fell into place really well, but now I look at it as an opportunity to do things even better, fix mistakes I wouldn't have made, etc. I find that mindset helpful.

Great title!  I always thought the Katy Perry stuff looked far too silly to bother owning but, you're right, it suits this idea perfectly :)

Chapter 3.  Pep's premonition comes to fruition

China goes pretty much as expected.  A little less fruit harvest than she had hoped for and no fairy tricks, but more tomb exploration.

Once she gets back in town, she heads straight to the Toadstool to see if she could meet that man she dreamed about.  And there he was:

They chat.

And grab dinner.

All surrounded by zombies.

Back at home, the pea shooter doesn't work quite as anticipated and a zombie is able to sneak past it.

At least it gets her on the way out.

The next day, Pep invites Gladsten out to the fair grounds.  The fairy concession stand worker meets the Grim Reaper.

After some slow dancing, Pep asks Gladsten to move in.

Gladsten Farmwell
Sub-type: human (for now)
Traits: loves the outdoors, handy, commitment issues, athletic, angler
Lifetime Wish: become an astronaut

Pep is able to get a hold of Violet and asks her to come over.

The two become best friends.  Violet has a boyfriend now.  How do you feel about that Pep?
I guess it's okay.  I have a, erm, roommate.

Meanwhile, Gladsten calls up one of his old friends.

Gladsten celebrates the occasion with a tattoo.  Looks like someone might need a trip to the spa to make that thing actually visible.

Someone must really have a thing for fairies because his ex-girlfriend Marigold is a fairy, now he's met Pep, and he was also very attracted to the tattoo artist.

Pep splashes in puddles.

Gladsten tells his romantic interest that they can only be friends.  He's got his sights on someone else now.

He helps Pep get her arboretum set up by upgrading her sprinklers.

And his transformation is complete.

The weather starts to turn.

Isn't it too cold for that Pep?
What?  It's exhilarating.
