Horse got a cold?
« on: January 24, 2013, 10:49:11 AM »
Hey

Weird thing just happened to me right now. Pets never get the "soaked" moodlet or anything relating to the weather, so I assumed that pets are immune to illness.

However, it's raining in Sunset Valley and I send my horse ahead by himself to the equestrian centre to wait for my sim because I wanted to participate in the races. So he gets there rather early and I have wander around waiting for my girl when I get a thing popping up saying, "Chester Mill is sick!"

Now Chester is my horse!! What's happening and how on earth am I supposed to get him better? It's Spring, so it's constantly raining.

Thanks everyone and sorry if this has been asked before.

Actually - dogs get the wet moodlet in one of my games all the time.  Worst part is the dog will shake off the water and everyone within 10 meters will drop queue to "react to wet dog".

Did your horse actually get the moodlet picture for having a cold?

Yep. He got the "germy" moodlet. I've worked out the cure though but thanks for answering.

I had built him a real shelter, walls, roof and all but I kept the floor as pasture grass. Originally, there was an open entrance, no doors just no walls. So, I closed up the hole, making it snug and warm inside. He started getting better and everytime I sent him out, he got worse. So to exercise him I opened the hole again and let him run out for only a few minutes. He's almost better now, I just have to keep him inside which is obviously a bit frustrating.

At least I know what to do!! Thanks for answering and is it possible to make this solved in anyway?

One option is to fence in your exercise area; make a jumping arena or racetrack indoors. The other option is to cheat: "testingcheatsenabled true" and then hold Ctrl and click the moodlet. Works like a charm.  ;)
