Chapter Twenty-Eight
P.O.V: New Generation Churchills
"Are we there yet?" Esther moaned, pressing her forehead against the plane window. "We've been on this stupid plane forever!"
"We'll be there in about three hours." Kate said, without looking up from her book. "And we've been in the air for about four."
"Well, what am I supposed to do for three hours stuck in a stupid plane? I'm bored, and I feel sick already."
"Well, there's bags in the seat compartments." Kate pointed out.
"...Thanks, Kate."
Kate turned the page in her book absently. "Always happy to help."
Grumbling, Esther turned around in her seat to face Dale and Shikeriah, who were sitting in the two seats behind her and Kate. Shikeriah was doodling on a pad of paper with a blue pen, and Dale was playing on a handheld game system.
"Hey, Dee!" Esther waved a hand in front of the screen to get Dale's attention.
"What is it now, Esther?" Dale sighed, pausing her game.
"What're you playing?"
"DNA Evidence."
"Can I play?"
"No."
"You're no fun." Esther pouted, turing to face Shikeriah. "And what're you doing?"
"Drawing."
"I can see that. What're you drawing?"
"Feathers."
Esther gave her a weird look. "O...kay. Any reason why you're drawing feathers?
Shikeriah shook her head absently, and continued drawing. Esther turned around in her seat and looked at Kate. "I'm bored."
Time skip...
"Finally!" Esther groaned, tossing her suitcase and backpack inside the tent she was sharing with Kate at the Al Simhara base camp.
"It wasn't that bad." Kate told her, unrolling her sleeping bag. "Not if you'd brought something to entertain yourself with like the rest of us had."
"Easy for you to say. What is that book you were reading anyway? It's so long it's almost scary."
Kate zipped open her backpack and pulled out a thick white book, with the title written in rainbow letters. "My Journey Through a Legacy, by Coke Chimeree."
"So it's an autobiography? That's boring."
"Speak for yourself." Kate tossed the book back into her suitcase.
The tent flaps opened, and Raymond peeked in. "Come on girls, were going to look around at the market."
"Coming!" Kate called, pulling a pair of flip flops our of her suitcase and jamming them onto her feet.
Time skip...
"Hey, Dee!" Come look at this!" Esther called, pointing at a collection of bright red bottles, with a gold dragon outlined on them. "Check this out!"
"What is it?" Dale asked, walking over from where she had been examining a miniature model of the Sphinx.
"It's liquid courage! Awesome, right?"
"Esther, that's probably just some stupid hoax they sell to tourists. I'd bet anything it's just flavored water in a fancy bottle."
"Whatever. I'm still buying this." She grabbed two bottles off the shelves, and ran over towards Amanda. "Mom! Can I get these?"
Amanda smiled. "Sure you can, honey." Turning towards Dale, she added. "What do you want, sweetie?"
"Mom, this place is just some stupid tourist trap" Dale sighed.
"Honey, I'd like to buy you a souvenir. Just pick something you like."
"Fine... That, I guess." Dale pointed at a small white bag of what looked like a sort of powder on a shelf.
As Dale and Esther were paying for their things, Kate and Shikeriah walked over. Kate was carrying three new books, and Shikeriah was holding a piece of metal which appeared to have bandages wrapped around it. Kate was also holding a pink T-Shirt, with a mummy and the words Al Simhara on it.
"I think we could give this to Bailey." Kate said, holding up a necklace with a dark grey stone shaped like a plumbob on the end. "It's a soulpeace necklace, it might help with her nightmares."
"Whatever."
"Souls don't exist, Kate." Shikeriah pointed out. "So they won't have anything to do with her nightmares.
"Shikeriah. What. Is That?" Esther asked, giving the metal ingot a distasteful look.
"It's a mummitonium ingot."
"Alrighty then."
Time skip...
Back at the base camp, Esther crawled into her tent, and found Kate already in there, still reading My Journey Though a Legacy. She yanked off her shoes and socks, and flopped down on her sleeping bag. "I still can't believe you find that book interesting."
Kate sighed, and put her bookmark on her current page before closing it. "I'm not even going to bother arguing with you. She put the book away, and yanked the hair ties out of her braids. "'Night."
"G'night." Esther changed into her pajamas, and curled up into her sleeping bag. Within moments, she was asleep.
Time skip...
After eating breakfast the next morning, Amanda called her kids into her and Raymond's tent. "I bought this for you girls back in Sunset Valley." She held out what appeared to be a plastic black rectangle, with a few buttons and a screen on it.
Dale took it, and examined it closely. "What is it?"
"It's a collection helper. It'll help you find rocks, bugs, seeds and fish." She pressed the green button in the corner, and a digitalized map of Al Simhara appeared on the screen. "You use this button to find rocks and metals-" She pressed a light blue button, and a number of matching light blue dots appeared on the map. "This one for seeds-" She pressed a green button and green dots replaced the blue ones. "And so on."
"Alright!" Esther jumped up and dashed out the tent flap. Shaking their heads, her sisters hugged their mother goodbye and followed her.
Time skip...
"Here's another one!" Kate said, pointing at a light blue dot on top of a dark brown triangle.
Dale peered at it closely. "Kate, that stone's inside of the Pyramid of the Sun.
"Oh. Then we'll-"
"Go in and find it!" Esther interrupted, pumping her fist in the air.
"Are you insane?!"
"But what if it's a rare, undiscovered gem? We could find it and get a lot of money, and call it the Churchill Stone!"
Kate raised an eyebrow. "Flat what."
"Oh, come on!"
Time skip...
Twenty-five minutes later, all four of them were standing in front of the hieroglyph covered front of the Pyramid of the Sun.
"Alright Kate, you're the smart one. How do we get in?" Esther commanded.
"Well, I read that there's often a switch concealed in the hieroglyphs, but don't get your hopes up."
"What, like this one?" She reached up and pressed on the eye of a drawing of Anubis. At once, the door began to rumble, and dust began falling off of it. Dale seized Esther's shoulders and yanked her away from it, as the dust grew thicker.
When the dust cleared, part of the hieroglyph covered outside wall was cone, and they could only see the darkness of the pyramid inside.
"Esther, you big-"
"Alright! Churchill Stone, here we come!" Esther dashed inside the pyramid, the darkness soon engulfing her. The three Churchills exchanged looks.
"I guess we should follow her." Shikeriah sighed.
"Why do I get the feeling we're about to do something stupid and dangerous?" Kate groaned.
"Because we are." Dale said flatly, turning to go follow her sister.
To be continued...

Chapter Notes:
*Esther isn't stupid or anything, she just has a dangerous combination of bravery, curiosity and hyperness.
* I'm assuming soulpeace is dark grey?
* Coke Chimeere is from the Chim-Chim Cheree Rainbow Legacy. It's a really good read. ^^
* I had to make up a lot about the collection helper, since I don't know how sims see it.
* By the way, when the New Gen's get back from Egypt, Olive will be a child. This was my solution to not having anything to write about her toddlerhood.... skipping it altogether. ^^''
* Did I use the word digitalized right?
* I apologize (For like the third time in a row) for the lack of chapter notes.
* Tell me what you think of this chapter! Pwease? :3
