Chapter Twenty Three Lily was sitting in the library, just chatting online aimlessly with some other people she didn't know in real life. She was really happy that her oldest sister was engaged, but all the wedding talk in the basement was driving her insane. Lily often spent all day in the library, even after closing time, writing, surfing the internet and hanging out in chat rooms. A bleep from the computer interrupted her thoughts, and she turned to see the latest message that had been posted.
soccerdude101: y u so upset bout the weddin?
Ignoring the terrible spelling and grammar, Lily typed her response
IComeFromDownUnder: Its all anyone ever talks about. Drives me insane.
GoLlamas: so tell them your sik of weddin talk
IComeFromDownUnder: I can't. I'm happy for my sister, and I don't want to upset her.
soccerdude101: so get outta teh house
IComeFromDownUnder: I am, I'm at the library right now.
soccerdude101: o
vampiresrule: r u married?
IComeFromDownUnder: What?! No, I'm a teenager!
vampiresrule that xplains a lotta things
IComeFromDownUnder: ?!?
Lily sighed and leaned back in her chair. She wasn't a big fan of chat rooms, because it was really hard to figure out what people were trying to say, and they were always full of internet creepers. Still, it gave her something to do. The computer clock read 11 pm, but she wasn't ready to go home yet. She enjoyed her freedom. Suddenly, she saw a police car out the window, and knew it was the curfew police making their rounds. Lily hastily turned back to the chat room.
IComeFromDownUnder: Crap, gotta go. Curfew police.
IComeFromDownUnder has signed off.
She pressed shut down, and yanked her USB drive out of the slot. She was about to press the Return Home button on the remote, when a police officers grabbed her wrist.
"What are you doing out here so late, young lady?" The officer asked her.
"Using the computers. What does it look like I was doing?" Lily was sick and tired of having to leave every night because of the stupid police officers.
"Don't talk to me like that, Missy. You're coming with us."
"No, I'm not!" She snapped. With a flick of her wrist, she whacked the officer's hand away, and pressed the Home button on the remote control. "See ya."
Back at home, Lily put on her nightgown and slipped into bed, when a voice from the bed next to her said, "What were you doing out so late?"
Lily spin around, startled. "Oh, it's you, Daisy." She relaxed, and slipped under her quilt. "I was at the library, playing on the computers. In had to leave when the stupid curfew police showed up, though."
Daisy got back under her blanket as well. "We'll be adults in the eyes of the law soon, so you won't have to worry about them anymore."
"Good point. Oh, by the way, what day is today?"
"Saturday. Wedding's tomorrow, so you can stop pulling your hair out whenever someone starts talking about it."
"Good. Well, 'night." Lily rolled over and quickly fell asleep.
P.O.V Change: Heather "Heather."
"Heather!"
"
Heather! Get up already!"
Heather felt a hand poking her cheek. She pushed it away groggily. "Go away... I want to sleep."
"You can't miss the important event you're doing today, Heather!"
"What event?"
"Oh, I dunno... maybe YOUR WEDDING?!"
Was so shocked that she fell out of bed. "Ouch!" She grumbled opening her eyes to find Violet standing over her, wearing a purple sundress. "Couldn't you have found a more
civil way to get me up?!"
Her sister stuck out her tongue at her. "Hey it wasn't my fault you fell out of bed."
Now wide awake, Heather opened the dresser and took out the wedding dress she had purchased after many days of indecision. She then headed into the bathroom and took a hot shower, making sure to get every last speck of dirt and dust off her body. She wanted to look perfect for her wedding. After that, she dried herself off, and changed into her dress. Lily helped her fix her hair the way they'd practiced so many times, and they were finally ready.
One by one, they stepped onto the teleporter and appeared by the gleaming waters of Crystal Springs. Everything was ready. The dance floor and stereo were set up, the buffet table was loaded with stuffed turkey, autumn salad and cookies, and there was the five layer wedding cake Amanda had baked and frosted herself. Ten minutes later, a car pulled up, and Zachary stepped out, waring a black tuxedo. Heather's breath caught in her thought, he looked really handsome. She ran up to him, and pulled him into a hug.
"You ready for this?"
He nodded. "Yeah."
Heather grinned. She knew it was unusual to get married at a pond out in the middle of nowhere, but this was the place she had first met Zach, and where he'd proposed to her. Zachary went over to stand where they'd arranged to exchange vows, in front of a large pine tree, and Heather took Raymond's arm and walked over to her groom. Letting go of her father's arm as they neared him, she stood in from of Zachary.
Zachary took the first ring out of his pocket and slid it onto her finger. He recited his vows, and Heather did the same. Then, they kissed to seal it. They were married now, and nothing would ever tear them apart.
The days that followed were some of the happiest days of Heather's life. Because the basement didn't have another double bed, Heather and Zach stayed in a fancy hotel. No only did they sleep there, but they also took advantage of the hotel's pool, hot tub, spa and all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. Despite all the fun they had at they hotel, they still found time to visit the basement and spend time with Heather's family. Lily, Daisy and Violet had all had birthdays and were young adults, ready to take on the world.
One day, however, something changed. Heather had teleported it, but everyone was still asleep except Violet, who was already dressed and rummaging through the kitchen cabinet for something. Eventually, she pulled out to heavy cooking pots, raised the above her head with some difficulty, and banged them together repeatedly, creating a huge racket capable of waking up anyone within twenty feet of her. It didn't help that the sound bounced off the walls of the basement, either.
Five minutes after Violet had done that, her sisters and parents were standing around her, looking irritated.
"Violet, I'd hoped that by this age you'd have stopped doing things like this." Amanda told her.
"Fat chance." Violet responded, tossing the pots over her shoulder, which caused another terrible crashing noise.
"Well, once my ears have stopped ringing..." Daisy said, whacking herself continuously on the side of her head to get her sense of hearing back to normal. "Maybe you can tell us why you woke us up at four in the morning."
Violet nodded. "I have an important announcement to make. You see, I'm... uhh..." She looked down at her feet then at her family again. "I'm moving to Bridgeport."
Everyone looked at her in shock.
"I'm not lying. I am! Y'see..." She continued, "I've know for a long time I've wanted to be an actress and I managed to get a job at Plumbob Pictures. But that job requires me to move somewhere closer."
"Amanda smiled, and hugged her daughter. "I want you to follow you heart, Violet. But be sure to call and write a lot, though!"
Violet grinned. "Relax mom, I'm not leaving for another four days."
"I know." Amanda said. "I've got to pull myself together.
"On the subject of moving..." Daisy said quietly. "I'm moving out as well. Kent invited me to live with him.
Roe gave her sister an odd look. "Who the heck is Kent?"
"My boyfriend. Kent Blevins. I didn't mention him to you guys because you were so bust with the wedding."
"I... see. Well, that's good for you."
Lily nodded. "Oh yeah, I'm moving in with my boyfriend as well.
Rose whacked her forehead. "I'm afraid to ask."
"I met him online a few weeks ago, his names Aaron Batts. I love him." She said happily. "And I figured mom and dad would want us out of the house as soon as possible so they can live a quiet life."
Amanda stuck out her tongue at her. "Watch you mouth, missy. I'm not that old.
"Whatever you say. So, let's go help Vi pack!"
Long after their children had gone to bed, Amanda and Raymond sat on the foot of their bed and spoke in low, hushed tones. They had a very important matter to discuss.
Time skip... Heather was woken up a week later by her cell phone going off. Groggily, she pressed the talk button. "H'lo?"
"Hi Heather!" Violet answered her. "We're in the lobby, so come down!"
She nodded. "Be there in a bit." After hanging up, she hastily pulled on her jeans and a dark purple turtleneck, since it was still cold out, and rushed down to greet her sisters. They then began their walk to the Sunset Valley Subway Station.
"You know we
could just teleport there." Daisy pointed out, after twenty minutes of walking.
Violet shook her head. "I've got twenty years of being separated from the outside world to make up for."
The subway station was a smelly, busy, noisy place, full of people buying greasy food at the food court and boarding subways. Having lived in a basement for the majority of their lives, the Churchills were still uncomfortable around large crowds of people, so they quickly hurried over to a bench off in the corner.
"Let's see..." Violet mumbled checking her. "Subway'll be here in five minutes." She looked pale and nervous, Heather knew it was hard on her to leave her family behind. It didn't help that Bridgeport was a huge city, and probably pretty dangerous as well. It was only natural that her sister would feel scared. They sat in silence for a bit more, until the subway pulled up, ready to bring Violet to her new home. She stood up and hoisted her duffel bag onto her shoulder, the grabbed her rolling suitcase Lily had been carrying. Pausing near the doors, she turned to her sisters. "Bye! I'll be expecting lots of letters and phone calls!" She said with a grin. They all waved and said goodbye, as the subway sped away towards Bridgeport.
But Violet wasn't the only one moving. The other fours sisters had brought their own luggage, because today was the day they moved in with their boyfriends (Or in Heather's case, husband) and started their new lives. They climbed up the stairs back into daylight, bid each other farewell, and headed off towards their new homes.
We've spent a lot of time together. Heather though wistfully.
We were much closer than most siblings. She turned and began walking towards her new house, where Zach would be waiting.
But the time has come for us to go our separate ways...----
Despite the fact that this would be a pretty nice way to end the Chronicles, they're not over yet. I've got so many ideas to use, and I can assure you that the Churchill sisters will all have children of their own!~ ^^ Anyhow...
Chapter Notes:
* The main reason of the chat room scene was to show off the kick-awesome screen name I thought up for Lily. Like it?
* All of the houses the houses Heather, Rose Daisy, Lily and Violet are moving into were custom built by me. If you guys want, I'll post pictures.
* Despite me saying she moved to BP, Violet will remain in SV. Bridgeport not only wreaks havok on my computer, but the move would also chop her off the Churchill family tree.
* I'm also going to post wedding pictures tomorrow, since I took a lot of them. ^^''
* The wedding part was also pretty terrible since I've only been to one real life wedding. All I can remember was that I was really bored.
* I didn't say what exactly their wedding vows were, since I don't even know hoe to write them.
* Is the word "Crap" allowed on this forum?
* There's no subway station in SV, it seemed like too much to put one in.
* From chapters after this one, it will specify at the beginning what P.O.V it centers around.
* Violet's new trait is Party Animal. ^^
* I'm
also going to post pictures of Violet was YA. Like I said, her cuteness blows my mind.
* I'm really really sorry this chapter took so long...
* Sorry I neglected to mention that Amanda and Raymond are elders now. Kinda slipped my mind... ^^''
* Next chapter is all planned out in my mind I'm just too tired to write it right now...
* ...Due to the fact that it's
1 IN THE MORNING where I am! I started writing this chapter at like 9:30!
* Tell me what you think of this chapter! Pwease? :3
