Chapter Twenty

"So, you're absolutely sure about this?" Lily asked her sister, running a brush through her long black hair.
"Heck yes I am" Daisy answered her. "Look around you, Lil. Everyone in this basement has long hair! I need to stand out! Be unique!"
"Daisy, not everyone has long hair. Dad doesn't."
"Yeah, because he's a guy." Daisy huffed. "Look, just cut my stupid hair, okay?"
"Sure, whatever." Lily brushed it a few more times, and pulled it back with a rubber band. She positioned her scissors just in front of the rubber band, and closed them. In instants, Daisy's black ponytail fell to the ground. Lily trimmed the tips a little bit, and then began brushing her sister's hair again. Daisy's black hair was now very short, coming a little below her ears. She opened her eyes and squealed happily.
"I love it! Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!" She cried.
"No problem. But, how are mom and dad going to react?"
Daisy shrugged. "Well, they're gonna have to accept it. This is irreversible, and besides, what're they gonna do for punishment, ground me?" With that, she picked up her ponytail from the ground and headed toward the trash compactor. Just then, Violet walked up to her, holding a purple bottle.
"Okay, outta the way! I need the mirror!" she demanded. Lily stuck her tongue out at her younger sister, who'd had her birthday a few days ago.
     "You wish. I'm not budging."
Violet rolled her eyes, and squeezed between Lily and the sink. "Okay, there." She yanked the rubber bands holding her ponytails in place out, and squeezed some of the purple goop from the bottle onto her hands. She then began to pack it onto the tips of her black hair. Lily watched the whole thing, confused. When the purple substance covered all the tips of her hair, she put the cap back on the bottle and disappeared into the bathroom. A few seconds later, Lily heard water running. What was her sister doing?
Eventually, her curiosity got the better of her, and she walked over to the bathroom door and banged loudly on it so Violet could her her over the water. "Violet! Let me in!" she yelled.
"Just a minute!" Came her response, almost muted by the water. A few minutes later, the lock clicked, and her sister opened the door. She had washed the goo of her hair, but the purple had stayed.
Lily whacked her forehead. "Mom and dad are gonna go ballistic, you realize." Violet shrugged, and began putting her hair back in her usual style.
      Time skip...
Amanda and Raymond had gotten angry. Daisy and Violet had both been sent to bed right after dinner, without any of Amanda's famous key lime pie. As she finished hers, Lily turned to her mother. "So, anything interesting happen when you were out in town?"
Amanda laid down her fork. "Yes, actually. When I checked the death records at City Hall, Jenna Warden was listed there." Her voice showed no emotion, she only stated the facts.
Lily gave her mother a quizzical look. "So... should we be happy about this or not?"
She shrugged. "Jenna was my mortal enemy, and I hate her for what she's done. But I would never wish death on anyone." With those words of wisdom, she got up and headed for bed. Lily jumped up and grabbed her by the arm.
"Hey mom! Can we spar for a bit before we go to bed?"
      "I don't know, sweetie. I'm pretty tired..."
"Then it'll be easier for me to beat you!" Lily teased. "C'mon, please?"
      "Alright, alright. Go change."
"Awright!" Lily ran over to the dresser, and pulled out the Sim Fu uniform Amanda had bought her, and ran into the bathroom, and quickly put it on. She then took the long, yellow strip of cloth, and tied it carefully around her waist. Lily was ready for action.
      Time Skip...
"Aaah, I'm exhausted!" Lily complained, flopping down on a dining chair. She had fought her best, but lost all three rounds of sparring.
"You should know better that to challenge a black belt, you know." Her mother told her with a grin. "Well, I'm heading to bed. How about you?"
"I'm gonna stay up and read for a bit." Lily answered, pulling out Planet Beeboz.
Her mother smiled. "Sure, just don't stay up too late." She pulled on her nightgown and crawled into bed beside Raymond.
For a half hour, the basement was almost completely silent, and Lily was too engrossed in her book to notice the gray, ghostly lady that had floated eerily though the basement celling. Lily looked up with a start, however, when she noticed it out of the corner of her eye. The ghost was heading towards her mother and father. Lily dropped her book and bolted from her seat, knocking the chair over in the process, and dashed between her parents bed and the ghost, undoubtably Jenna Warden.
Lily's mind raced. When she had first told her mother she wanted to learn martial arts, she had given her a long talk about how Sim Fu was not for violence or hurting people. But right now, Lily didn't care. Jenna was not going to hurt her parents. Before the ghost lady could make any moves, Lily swung her foot in a dangerous kick towards Jenna's throat, her dark pink sneaker whacking the side of her neck painfully. Ghost's were obviously a lot lighter that normal people, because she went flying halfway across the room. By the time Jenna had gotten her wind back, Lily was standing over her, her fists clenched in anger.
Ever the trickster, Jenna tried to talk her way out of this predicament; she had no idea Lily was a martial artist. "There's no cause for violence, girl. I'm just a ghost from a few houses down, who wandered over to investigate the neighboring hou-"
"Don't give me that crap!" Lily interrupted, shouting. Her blue eyes crackled with pure fury, and she was shaking from head to toe. "I know who you are! You're the one who trapped my father down here forty years ago! You're the reason we're all living like this!" Without giving her a chance to respond, she yanked Jenna forcefully to her feet and kicked her hard in the stomach. "Don't ever come near my family again, or I'll make you wish you never existed!"
The ghost narrowed her glowing, pure wight eyes at her attacker. "Mark my words, you piece of filth, I'll be back. And I'll make every one of you Churchills pay. Mark. My. Words." With that, she vanished in a cloud of silver light, which shot through the celling back to the overworld.
Lily was shaking even more violently now, although it was now out of pure fear. She walked numbly over to the dresser and put on her nightgown. She climbed into bed, her heart was beating so hard and fast she though it would burst out of her chest. But it wasn't until she was under her covers, with her face buried in her pillow, that she allowed herself to cry. Had she just condemned her family to death?

Chapter Notes:
* Sorry this update's so late, I got sucked into watching about five episodes of Azumanga Daioh, and then played online with one of my friends on Littlebig Planet 2.
* I tried to keep the violence to a minimum in this chapter. You really don't want to know what it was like when I was planning it out in my head.
* Am I allowed to use 'Crap' in my story? Again, you don't want to know what the dialogue was like in my head either.
* Lily's new trait is Disciplined, I think Daisy's is Ambitious, but I'm not sure. Violet's new trait is Childish.
* Oh, and their traits for aging up to children were: Bookworm for Lily, Lucky for Daisy, and either Friendly or Good for Violet. I'm too lazy sleepy to go check.  :P
* I already have Jenna's revenge planned out, but I'm not tellin'! ;)
* I dug up some information on Rose's future husband earlier this afternoon:
♪ His name is Marcus Sampson
♪ He lives in the modern pool house next to Gobias Koffi's place with his father brother ex whatever, I don't even know, and his fiancee, an elderfied Tori Kimura
♪ He works at the day spa as a Clothes folder
♪ His household is rich
♪ His (known) traits are Good, Brave and Grumpy. Good and Brave are fine, but I'm not so sure about grumpy. I guess it's either him or evil Somethingorother Scotch. :-\

* I'll post pictures of the youngest Churchill girls as teens in a bit.
* Sorry for the small ammout of Chapter Notes for this one. I really can't think of much to say.  :-\
* Tell me what you think of this chapter! Pwease? :3

Great chapter! I wonder what evil ghostly Jenna is up to :O

I've got a silly question, now that Jenna's gone, why can't Amanda call the local construction people to put in some stairs? :3

Well, you know how you can have up to six basements, each one farther down? The Churchill basement is the farthest down you can get. Also, I've already got their escape plan (Well, sort of) thought out.
