You wanna know what scares me the most?

This.

I don't know what's been going on lately, whether it was a patch or one of the updated mods, but I've seen more meteors in the last few months than I have in the entire two years I've been playing this game. Any time I read the notification that "So-and-so wonders why it's suddenly gotten dark" I totally freak out. That means someone is going to bite the dust, and more often than not it's going to be a townie that I like.

RIP Arlo and Mortimer. Good thing that I saved shortly before this...

When I play multi-generational games and NO ONE lives in the town. It drives me nuts. There are only homeless townies. Gosh I love that Edit in CAS cheat.

Why do townies come to community lots and leave their toddlers sitting there without bothering to feed them when they get hungry? I know that it's probably just something that the developers forgot to add in, but it just creeps me out that the parents will stand there and do nothing about their crying child other than covering their ears and complaining about it, even when the kids are very obviously in need of feeding.

RaiaDraconis: Mortimer looks super angry :P Not that I blame him,  he's about to get murdered by a giant rock from space.

Sayaka, I see this when doing my Ghost Hunter job. They just leave the toddler there in their house and it's screaming bloody murder because it stinks or needs food, yet the parents are too busy cheering my Sim on when he catches a ghost to feed their kid. :P

Things that scares me lately in Sims 3 are some random flirty sim in the town.
My sim got bad mood after 'be accused of cheating' by a girl he is wooing (a future spouse you can say) because a random flirty sim suddenly flirt him in town. And now I have rebuilt the relationship again.... AFTER a few days (because of the mood).

The very first time the Repo-man came to my house, I had no idea who he was and why he was able to come into my house and take something even though I had a burglar alarm set up.  I got totally freaked out.  Later I did some research online and found out you actually had to pay bills.   :P
The ghost music also freaked me out the first time I heard it, so did the music that comes on when an appliance breaks.   (I know, I'm weird.)

And I agree with Sherry, I got so upset when my Sim's girlfriend randomly accused him of cheating, I guess I wasn't watching when some Townie started flirting with him...

I always jump when the game automatically moves the camera - more from being startled or surprised than anything else.  It's usually for good things, like recognizing pregnancy, but sometimes it's for something I dread, like visits from Grimmy.

Hear, hear! The worst thing is when the camera moves for the University Mascot! I hate it so much and it scares the life out of me every time.

When the toddler models glitch out.

Really disturbs me to see their necks extend so they can peer over the bars of the crib (they're sitting) to look at whoever came in the room. Thankfully it's only happened twice in a couple of RL weeks of playing.

All the saving/travelling bugs are why I run Nraas Saver and Traveller. ;) Auto-save is a beautiful thing.

Oh gosh I forgot about toddlers glitching out! I got some bad CC at some point and a toddler went all abomination on me with freakishly long, thin arms. I had a serious fright. I've never had them just glitch out without some CC being the cause but it sounds pretty freaky, too!

Also, if my game is in full screen mode and I tab out from CAS, sometimes when I go back to the game, the sim will be all grey with black eyes and no other features for a while. That's pretty scary, too.

I've had that one! More so on my laptop rather than the desktop.

When I pay no attention to the bills, then the bills expired without last moment notification.
Suddenly there is the repo-man/woman on my house.  :o Shocking! and Annoying.

Fireplace in my home with no 'fireproof homestead' LTR.
The fire keeps coming just like oxygen for breathing. I had to rid the fireplace until I got the LTR.

I always hold my breath when my game freezes. When I had a really bad computer it would just shut down for absolutely no warning and I'd lose hours of progress, I've since found my new computer much better. I can see how meteors would be terrifying! I had one sim household where I went through a groundhog day like experience, every time I played the son would go in the pool and drown. He always went straight for it too! After the 3 time of me restarting the game from my save point I just gave up on having a pool on the lot. Pools now scare me.

I get so peed-off by this kind of neglect, I actually had one sim who would befriend one or other parent, invite them to move in with all kids in their care, and then kick out the parent and raise the kids myself. (Being a mommy in real life, I get a bit crazy that way. LOL)

@seakissed: My greatest fear too! Especially when I've just completed a long and involved adventure cycle, and I haven't saved yet. (or worst yet: when it crashes whilst saving.)
