Things that scare you in Sims 3
« on: January 20, 2013, 04:58:59 AM »
There are a few things that actually freak me out in Sims!

1) Fish - Deathfish in particular. I had to change  a setting so that the cat's fur wouldn't go see-though but that meant that I can see through the water where there are fish. I just don't like looking at them going up and down and when my fishersim pulls out an enormous one, I just freak out! Deathfish are especially bad because they're big, black and floaty, a bit like the Grim Reaper in fish form. I just hate it!

2) Mummies - How are Mummies not scary? I can't even get past level 1 visa because I hate going into tombs because of the Mummies! I just always feel like one is going to creep up on me...

3) Ghost music- You know the music when ghosts appear? Sometimes I don't even know where it's coming from and I just panic!

Is there anything that freaks you out in Sims?

Probably the one thing that freaks me out in the Sims is when they start looking at you. I think toddlers and children do it more than others, but it's kind of creepy. It's like they know they're being watched. *shiver*

My first visit from the Grim Reaper was pretty scary, too. Funny part was, I had the volume really low, so I didn't know that there was music to go along with it. The second time he showed up I had my volume up, so I heard the music in all its creepy glory. I made it a point not to let any of the my Sims die again for a little while.  :P

How the game can be paused then some sims heads move in a strange way. They look evil!

Has anyone else had that glitch where a toddler ages up into a child and then there's like a detached, creepy human head floating above the sim? It's easily the weirdest thing I've ever seen on sims  :o
Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.

I love to read and watch horror books and movies.  The freaker, scarier the monster the more I like it.  Not the cut them up type, but creatures. Aliens was scary the first time I saw it, now I see them as nasty looking.    Realistic looking, that can be scary at times.

So, a lot in the sims games don't bother me. Grim Reaper was somewhat scary at first, I think the music helps a lot to make him be scary.  Until the cat died; the music played, he showed up,  bent down, played and pet the cat, pet and gave it a treat.  The cat jumped up in his arms and off he went.  Kinda sweet, not scary.  Betrice died (SN) and when he showed up she went over, shook his hand and jumped down into the ground.

Thunderstorms. Due to my insane fears of sudden noises and flashing lights, it's pretty nerve-wracking for me to play with sound on now that Seasons is here. :(

That weird stretchy thing dogs and cats do when they interact (or try to interact) with my sim - I feel like I should be used to it by now, but no, I always have a reaction of "OMG what is that thing?!?  Ack!" without fail.  ::)

The first time I heard it, I had a firefighter, and he was sleeping(I thought it was a Earthquake or something) and got him up. He was in such a bad mood   :-\

I get really freaked out when IFs transport themselves from indoors to outdoors. I had my volume turned all the way up the first time it happened and screamed. I think IFs creep me out in general. Their walk... The way they follow their sim around... It's very strange for me.

This! This so much. It freaks me out more when they're townies. Once I was zooming around Bridgeport at Sim height since my sims were just playing for tips at the park and I was bored. I ran into a group of Sims outside of a diner and one looked at the camera when I was really close. He didn't look too happy like he was saying "Go bother your own Sims" xD

I always jump when the game automatically moves the camera - more from being startled or surprised than anything else.  It's usually for good things, like recognizing pregnancy, but sometimes it's for something I dread, like visits from Grimmy.

I get terrified when lightning strikes the lot you're playing on. I also get scared when zombies arise from the ground as it makes such a racket!

I knew it was coming, but this is one of the few things that actually made me jump when playing Sims.

I was able to capture it at just the right moment though, lol.

What is it?
Looks like a booby-trap prank, more specifically a “Scary Maze Game” replica.

Anyway, the ghost music in The Sims 3 doesn’t bother me, but in The Sims it completely freaked me out. Ghosts were non-interactable NPCs back then… They’d walk around your lot at night if there were tombstones. In the Goth household, there are eight of them. *shudders* Grim also scared me quite a bit. I have an entire post in one of my threads explaining that story.
“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back!” - Cave Johnson, Portal 2
“You ought to upgrade to Windows 7!”, they said. “It’ll help your games run so much better!”, they said. If I see them again, then they had better know how to stabilize an on-the-fritz copy of The Sims 3 that was working just fine on Windows XP.
