Trouble with Honor Roll

I just got Seasons and I love that they reintroduced it to Sims 3. However, I decided to try the Townie Decadynasty challenge and I noticed sort of a frequent problem with Seasons where I don't have enough time to get the kid on honor roll.

In the game, it's Monday and it was declared no school for that day because of snow. Bummer. Later that week on Thursday, it's Snowflake Day, so again there will be no school and my child will turn into a Teenager on Sunday, so I only have the one week.

In short, any tips on getting onto Honor Roll faster? I will only have 3 days (and that's if the school doesn't declare a snow day, which is why I'm sort of nervous).

You can take one of the parents, teach them logic, and have them Tutor the kid, and the next time he/she goes to school honor roll will be easy to achieve.

I'm going to move this thread to the Misc. Help board instead of the Stories board.   This way someone might be able to help you faster. 

I would also suggest reading the Townie DecaDynasty tips thread as people have talked about what they do for snow days and other things.

Another tip which was given by the challenge board team is that we recommend not having 7 day seasons because of this problem.

No problem! Just remember that a level 5 logic skill level is required for tutoring, but that probably won't take long to achieve.

I had the same problem, two weekend days and then off Mon and Tues, due to snow.  He was due to age up on Thursday, so the father tutored him on Sunday, Monday and Tues and by that time the child was an A student, went to school on Wed and got on the honor roll, so tutoring comes in handy for that reason.

Another thing is some snow days you can still send your kid to school if you use the option under the career tab instead of waiting for the bus.

I have sent my kids this way and they get on the honor roll with no problem.

You can also get the Climate Control Lifetime Reward for 40,000 LTHPs, and make sure it doesn't snow. It doesn't help as much as tutoring, but it is an option.

I'm not sure if it helps melt the snow already on the ground though. Maybe you could set the weather to "Rainy" so the snow would melt.
