Where are the Moths in Sunset Valley?

I'm working on the Butterfly Bonanza opportunity and I can't seem to find the moths. Where can I find them in Sunset Valley? Thanks!

I thought that there are moths around the crypt at the cemetery.

There's also some near the criminal warehouse and school.

I've checked these places out several times but the moths don't appear. What can I do about this?

I would suggest you keep checking, multiple times daily.  Insect spawns are different from, for example, seed or rock spawns.  The insects are available only for some period of time, and will disappear if your Sim doesn't get there in time to catch them.

That happened to me,  I was sending my sim to where they were at and by the time she got there, they had left.  They just disappeared as she was arriving at the spot. 
Gems and metals do that also.  In China I sent my sim to some gems and metals and had clicked on several; at one spot I clicked on two gems and one metal.   When she arrived there, there were only two gems to pick up, the metal, which I think was mecury, was gone.

I can relate.  All of the spawns are on timers; otherwise the towns would get cluttered with uncollected goodies over time.  Fishing spots also go through cycles where they are "great" places to fish for some period of time, and then become "decent" places to fish - until it's time for them to be great again.

I do think, though, that the insects aren't around as long as gems and metals.  Having a rock disappear when my Sim was en route to snag it isn't something that has happened to me yet, but it has happened several times with insects.

I found a zebra butterfly out by the 'stonehenge' looking rocks way outside the city. I also found the cream colored ones there, too. Gems spawn there as well. Perhaps a moth may spawn there from time to time too?

I usually find moths by the cemetery.

If you have the supernatural expansion, check where the elixir shop is placed. I have found moths in the backyard there.
