Building a hot spring.

For one of my planed project builds, I want to make a hot spring for my Sims to swim in.  I know Seasons is supposed to allow you to swim in the ocean, lakes and rivers, but I think I recall hearing that you can swim in them if they are on a lot.  Is that true, because it would kind of hamper my build idea.  Though I have seen a tutorial on the Sims site about making a swimable pond.  Either way I go, I think I would then just have to put a fog marker over it to get a steam effect, right?   Any thoughts or ideas?
