Additional house holds
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:03:14 AM »
I have a house full, but have a newly married couple. So they can't have babies cos house is full, so can they move out to a place of their own but I still have control of the original household too or do I have to kill off old characters to make room for new, in which case how do I kill them off? What is the life span of a sim? Thanks  :D

They could move out, but you would lose control of the original household ( you can only control one household at a time ). Still, I don't think you'd need to kill any sims to make room. Just kick out as many as you want ( or move out, your choice ), and you'll have room for new sims. You can take a look at Carl's guide for moving here if you're not sure how.  :)

Yes kicking sims out is your easiest option. The normal way (story progression) is that other households progress through their lives while you play with one family - it is possible to undo that setting and therefore control all households but it comes with it's own problems.

You can see the lifespan of a sim in the first tab (personal info I think) and hover your mouse over the little bar and it will tell you how many sim days are left before they age up. The ages are: Baby, Toddler, Child, Teenager, Young Adult, Adult, Elder. How many days for each can be adjusted in the options.
