Problem with trying for baby.

In my test game for the baby challenge my two Sims will not try for a baby. They have compatible signs and are best friends. They do all romatic socials except woohoo and try for baby. They do the not tonight face whenever I get the other one to try for baby. I have tried with two other couples in different files and the same thing happens.

Does anybody have any ideas I really don't want to start my official baby boomer file if my couple won't try for a baby.

Had this happen in five different files for the same challenge.  Finally went with another couple just to get my game started.

So far I have created three different couples and all three are just not having any of it. I have tried every challenge suitable town I have. I even sent them on a date!

All I know is that it was working just fine in my game a few weeks ago.  Could this possibly be a bug from the latest patch?

Change one of their traits to something else maybe?  I think I ended up making one of them flirty. This happened in my baby boomer file before the patch though.

My most recent test couple are both flirty. If anyone can run some tests to see if it is a common occurance I would be grateful.

I noticed that it was worse when the sims were different life states.  Short of breaking them up and re-wooing dynasty speed style I don't know what to tell you.

Thanks Rica, I was wondering if I started with them as engaged and got them married in game it might help,but was concerned about them not being married would be against the rules.

Yeah they have to come out of CAS married but that doesn't mean you can't make them marry again LOL

The most annoying thing is that they have both popped up wishes ti hve a baby,evidently they just don't wish to have a child with one another.

I've had similar problems in my test files. My solution was to make sure they were very good friends (full social bar) before even starting any romantic socials. Then I could get them to woho, and after that try for baby would work.

I've noticed similar behaviour in other files I play just for fun. Don't know if it's a patch issue. I've had the most problem with sims that have the same traits as each other.

I started my game file before the patch came out, so I thought the patch might be causing your problems. I tried with a couple with identical traits to my parent sims and astrological signs and didn't have a problem. I don't know what to suggest without getting into strategy but it looks as if the patch is not the problem.

I guess there is just no chemistry between the sims then.

What else do they have in common? I have 2 sims I use randomly (depending on my game scenario) that have similar traits and compatible signs. They both go bonkers about procreating.

Male: virtuoso; artistic, paty animal, family oriented, flirty
female: virtuoso, artistic, perfectionist, charismatic, flirty.

Even though he is "family oriented", it is often the female with the wish for children.

Try Hopeless Romantic instead of Flirty.

(Added: Or maybe in addition to Flirty.) Check the Consignment Store for woohooium and Little Boy Soldier incense holders, too.
