Nonglitchy Grim Sim!
« on: January 11, 2013, 05:49:13 PM »
As you may be aware of, it used to be possible to have a grim reaper for a sim, but that feature was removed in a patch. Another problem is that he has no skin color so he can be extremely glitchy. So sadly, no Grims for us. Woe is me!
But! I have a fix. My game is not updated, so I can have a Grim, but he is still glitchy. So I don't touch the save until my game is patched up. At which point I Take Grimmy into CAS and give him the nifty black skin. At which point I save him and upload him here!
My question is if you see any holes in this plan? If not, Grimmies for all!

It sounds really interesting -- worth a shot. Though, I'm afraid that when you patch your game, he may be removed... I didn't know you could change skin tone of an existing sim either... ? :P There are so many things about this game that I do not know still.

You can use the Edit in CAS cheat that came with the Generations patch to change a sim's skin color.

That's actually the first thing I thought when I saw the greyscale skintone for the first time. If there's a way to unlock his robe, I'd be thrilled to have my very own playable Grimmy.

I've had a Grim in my game since June 2009 and the robe is not unlockable under any means and Grim will lose it upon aging up.  :(

Well, Alyse, when added to your household Grim becomes just a glitchy sim in a unique robe. so I doubt he will be deleted upon update. So I use the edit in CAS to give him his black skin. And a perfect nonglitchy grim!
I then put him on the swapshop here, so you all can have a Grim Reaper. I was thinking that he'd be useful for stories and videos.

Changing his skin tone may make him lose his robe.  Just letting you know.  I know that changing his hair can sometimes do it since I already have one saved.    And he's only glitchy if you use him to breed.  His skin is a corruption but short uses isn't that bad.  You just have to remember that the robe can't be kept too, sadly.

Hmmm. That will be difficult to work out. I'm having trouble getting him. I've gone on a killing spree. I even targeted, GASP, Mr. Highly Desirable Dynasty Spouse!
Luckily my sim is evil so she enjoys all of the starvation. I killed so many at the theatre that I got a creepy graveyard moodlet :o.
One step at a time. Once I have Grimmy I'll save it, so I have a save to go back to if the robe is lost. I'll just try again and hope for the best. :-\

You know there are several of these guys on the exchange right?  I could even upload mine for you if you wanted.  The same Grim I "stole" a long time ago.

By the way - the only way to get Grim anymore is to use  the cheat "Add to Household" but this has to be done in a file you're not playing because then when people die, no one comes to collect them.

Yeah. you could upload yours. I enjoy struggling with Grimmy, but when I finally give up It'll be nice to have a Grim Reaper. So yeah, please upload the Reaper! (I don't use the exchange, afraid of the doll and other such glitches, and I don't have an account.)

Okay, I got to know: how many sims did you kill on that lot to get the creepy graveyard moodlet? I always just figured the moodlet was based on the lot type, not the amount of graves! I mean, the idea that you could have the creepy graveyard moodlet on your home lot is just weird. I don't know why you'd want to but, weird!

Not home, the theatre. I didn't exactly want the moodlet, but it appeared at about 5 I think? As soon as I got the moodlet I moved the graves to the grave yard.
