Agreed! Wish we had aliens, and wish Simbots were more like Servos!
The only other supernatural lifeform I liked in Sims 2 was Vampires. I had a bunch of them in a Legacy back in the day. I liked how you could make your regular sims into Vampires, how they slept during the day in their coffins, etc.
I really liked vampires too! Turning them into vampires, having them sleep in coffins, and it looked really funny seeing the sims having their arm constantly in front of their face!!
The only other supernatural life form I ever delved into was... oh dear, I can't remember the name! But it was that green thing with leaves for hair and stuff, they were basically like flowers with only the needs for sun light, water and love (I found that so sweet!), which made them rather easy to play (and I really liked that). They were also excellent gardeners! And the toddlers made from their pollen were so cute!! Though I had Pets and University, I never had any Zombies or Werewolves, and I weren't really all that interested either.
Well, anyhow, to not stray off-topic...
My Simbot searches the galaxy with the telescope, and he earns quite a lot of money.
Some stars worth more than 8,000!
If it wasn't him (and my painter that earned more than 400,000 in his life) my sims wouldn't enjoy their lives in the luxury mansion I built for them!
Even though I wish SimBots would be more like Butlers or something (*cough* more like servants...*cough*), I'm still looking forward to having them in my game when I get Ambitions (no idea when that will be, I may be spending my money on other things instead), as they would be excellent money makers!! And unlike in Sims 2, where they had all the skills maxed from birth/creation (and things became so boring when that happened to sims in Sims 2), they only have skills in Handiness/Inventing this time, right? And there's still the skill challenges, not to mention the amount of money you can make collecting, painting, writing etc. in Sims 3, compared to Sims 2 (the money-making abilities were more limited then), and don't forget that as they are official part of the family, they can go out every Monday to collect from all the family investments, instead of having the sims do it!
When a family has a lot of investments in buildings, that's a great way to have the SimBots waste time productively (because they *can* do that, right? I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't be able to).
And while I was a bit perturbed by the looks of the Sims 3 SimBots at first, I now think they look awesome! And I can't wait to give my favorite sim Arianna a personal sl-erhm, I mean new family member!
Not to mention all the other perks of Ambitions, dang, now I really want to have it, but I think I should at least wait until the next patch with all the bugs it's riddled with...
