I too got the chipmunk infestation and thought it might have something to do with all the leaves on the ground.  When I raked up in the spring, and my Sim caught a few, they gradually disappeared.

I think Majora solved the issue pretty nicely. I haven't had any more pest problems since she moved in :)

Mariska has ordered something for me... and it has arrived today. She told me to listen to its tabcasts for an increase in a skill while I do other things. I wonder why she hasn't told me something like this exists before today. It would have been a lot easier to get where I am now if I had this Multitab. I've already gained a level in charisma while I was writing!

One of the other new pieces of equipment obviously needs upgrading, but... it breaks before I finish it. I guess it's a good thing I'm quite a handyman these days. I'll just repair it first. Of course, there will be more of these... I think everyone with a regular time schedule should get one, so I kind of add a futuristic bathroom. This is in no way part of what I have planned for the manor however, so it will need to be incorporated somewhere else eventually.

The multitab doesn't work while I'm upgrading things though, which is a bit of a drawback. However, it's uses during writing are without equal.

(I've been shopping in the simsstore a bit... Monte Vista, the Market stalls, the multitab... and the future lounge set, which happened to be the daily deal at the time. Also reinstalled the rest of my store-items, which took way too long and crashed my game once.)
(Already sorry I bought the multi-tab. It makes skilling way too simple... and pretty boring.)

Is it really that time already? *swallows* Our teenage couple is growing up today, leaving the school books behind and joining me as young adults in the household. I suppose this means there will be wedding bells in our near future as well... and most likely, a move... I don't know whether I'm glad or sad on this day. Though Orange has been quite a little troublemaker, his doll has been a near perfect young lady during these difficult years.

Lucky obviously can't wait to grow up! It's so sad to see the young wanting to age quickly, while the older hope it never happens... I guess that too is something to think about. Until I came to Redemption, I never really thought much about the ageing process, but now that I'm in the middle of it all, it feels... well, sad isn't the word really... more like melancholic.

She's coming rather close to finishing her lifetime wish already, thanks to her after-school activities and I can't help wondering what she'll do after.

Of course, Orange will be sharing her birthday, as they have since they were kids. At first, he seems a bit distracted, but that may be because of the crowd. After all, Orange really doesn't like crowds... never has either. I guess he must feel really horrid at these parties of ours. Still, this is most likely the last party we'll ever celebrate together. I'm sure he won't be throwing any parties as soon as he's out of the house...

As is obvious from the way he spends the rest of the party, hidden away in the library. Regardless of his lone-wolf nature, as soon as he gets the opportunity, he takes off towards the performance park next door, to set the first step on his road to Vocal Legend. His nom de guerre? Annoying Orange. *shakes head* That boy sure is an odd one at times.

His first sing-a-gram ever... is directed at his own brother, after I kind of blow up in poor Citrus face. What can I say, I'm a bit touchy today. The way he and Mary keep their little girl away from us is really getting to me. She's grown into a toddler by now...

(lol. Gabriel accused Citrus of Impropriety and up pops the job for a cheer-up sing-a-gram.)

The Chevallier' house and the performance park next to the manor have been added to the build-thread :).

Happy birthday to Orange and Lucky.

Awwwwww Gabe, you're just touchy because you're gradually losing your surrogate family.  Ever thought of getting some of your very own?  Nudge... nudge...

The answer to that question will be in... chapter 72. lol. (I knew I had it somewhere... just went over my text to find in which chapter it will be. Saved game is at 74 right now.) It may be that the chapter-numbering changes though.

Graduation day for our two newest young adults has come... and, though there is no City Hall yet - I'm working on that - Lucky was selected as Class Valeditorian, which isn't much of a surprise, as she didn't miss a single day. She was voted Most Likely to Write a Best-Selling Novel, while Orange was voted Most Likely to Become a Sports Star. Of course, young Orange isn't inclined to go into sports, but... he has spend a lot of time on the treadmill, though you wouldn't say so from looking at him.

Our young couple celebrates their eternal faithfulness to each other... by going all lovey dovey. And, of course, the big question comes up after a while. True to Orange's dislike of crowds, they mess up all of our plans for another outdoor wedding party... and get married on the spot. I suppose they gather their graduation outfits are as good as any wedding cloths.

The exact moment Orange asks Lucky's hand in marriage, I finally max out Charisma, while working on my third novel, Forever Alone. There will be a City Hall for our next graduation... I still have a lot of building to do, but at least I'm getting close to the end in my skilling.

It's become even colder now... winter has come. Though this keeps Orange from going out and playing for tips most of the time, I think it looks wonderful, especially once the Christmas Lights are up. I don't think the others understand just how much I love this season... and it's not just because everything is finally white.

(The tabcast also maxes out his fishing while he's working on his third novel)

Have I said how awesome and unique this story is?  I'm loving it and it is now my other most favorite story.  The concept is terrific and one I think I'd like to try one day.

Re: The Long Way Home. (64) Meet Scarlet

Our neighbours have a foal up for adoption... and so I go for a visit. Meet Scarlet Chevallier, our new house mate... Of course, I will have to wait until she grows up before I can start training both of our riding skills.

There is something to be said to use Lemon's car to train Benjamin to drive. It keeps the other islanders out of our way... though I admit it also draws odd stares. At least, with the weather the way it is, there isn't that much traffic around to begin with.

And... our newest married couple has made their own chimes... while Majora watched on. Of course, I've given them the key to their very own little house near the manor, but they both seem hesitant to leave the protection of the family behind. Lucky is worried she won't be able to manage her own home... and Orange is a bit afraid of the same thing. Even though both of them have started working towards their respective dreams, they're afraid of taking this step into the wide world beyond the front door.

I can't say I blame them. The sim world is much more challenging than I would have thought. I don't mind their continued presence.

Awww how sweet.  Gabe you've been sucked in.  Those kids know it's better to stay at home and have an army of helpers to help mind the nooboo.

Nope, no nooboo in the house. Yet.

It seems Orange and Lucky have decided to make the step after all. They have moved to the twin of Citrus' house. Like Citrus and Mary, they're only a shout away, so if anything were to happen, they know we'll be there to help them out.

Suddenly, the house seems so much emptier. Thankfully neither Arthur or Ben can ever leave the manor. At least not until I finish the requirements of my challenge.

Ever since Citrus left, my martial arts skill has been ignored. After all, I don't really need it for any kind of building. But Lemon has been tasked to raise his own level... and he's very happy to have a sparring partner. I believe it may help him in his duties as super spy... and I'm very happy to help him out.

Ever since I've thought Benjamin to drive, he's been coming to me with any questions he has. He's a bit worried about his lifetime wish, though I've assured him often that he has plenty of time to complete it.

In a way I guess it's really great that he thinks of me when he's looking for help. I can't teach him to sing... but... I can tutor him in the guitar, which should be able to help him out once he starts off. I give him my own guitar, as I doubt we'll be playing a lot anyway. Even if Heavenbound ever finds the time to practice or even play somewhere, I can always get myself another one.

He seems to have lost his imaginary friend somewhere though, so he hasn't been able to use the potion I gave him earlier.

When I'm not writing or tending to little Scarlet, I'm usually working on my alchemy skill. Only three more skills to go before I have done all of my necessary skilling... and Scarlet needs to grow up before I can even start Riding. By the time she does, I'm sure I'll have maxed out writing at the very least. I only have two more levels to go... I can level my writing while researching more alchemy recipes, but usually my Tabcast is on one of the skills I don't really need to max now. I'm getting rather advanced in Nectarology already. I have to admit, using this tablet makes skilling a lot less fun.

Even so, the tablet has been a great help: my writing has been maxed out as well! Four more levels in elixirs and then only riding is left... With some luck, I'll have maxed out Nectarology soon as well, though I don't really need to. I probably should build the nectary, but since no one has really asked for one yet, I've opted to build the more important buildings first. I think the grocery store and the book store will be next.

Scarlet has chosen me to be her BFF too... I'm really looking forward to being able to spend more time with her.

Redemption Island is starting to be a bit more complete too: I've finished building City Hall, as well as the Angel Hill fishing spot and the coffee house in town. When Benjamin becomes a Singer, there'll be two venues for him to perform at. The others are still very much on my to-do list, but I'm slowly getting more buildings done; At the moment, I'm a bit hesitant to build new homes, as there are so many community buildings that still need to be finished...

(Which means I'm going to have to take pics of Orange's house, City Hall, the fishing spot and the Coffee House for the building thread. I'll post when I've finished them, but I doubt it'll happen today)
