Island Paradise Expansion Pack

The lmited editon comes with...I think they called it a Castaway Collection.  Even if not, its an apt name.  Its a set of clothes and items themed around your sim being shipwrecked and having built furnature out of the wrecked ship.

On the last page I wrote down information while watching the live broadcast.   It's called the Island Survival Pack.  No one knows details about it because it's not finished as they said in the broadcast.

Janna just so you know Aurora Skies isn't an expansion.  It's a world so it came with a venue.   Expansions actually change gameplay.  Worlds just give somewhere new to live and maybe some premium content.

Island Paradise looks like it might be a fun expansion pack.  University Life didn't interest me, and Sunlit Tides seemed okay, but not enough to want to buy it, but this one keeps catching my attention, so hopefully I can afford to buy it when it comes out.

One thing that hasn't been announced is what, if anything special, one gets if they get the Origins digital download version only (this isn't to be confused with the Limited Edition).

Heh, someone gets me the physical limited edition, but to get the origins only stuff I had to make a second account for it.  Shame they don't really stuff separate. 

Pets had a cat/dog costume pack, Supernatural had some decor from Plants vs. zombies, Showtime had a radio, and Seasons had shark/little bee costume, University the school spirit pack, etc. 

Sometimes I wish they did a bit more back compatibility with other previous packs.  For example, making unique drinks for the newer occult types ala Mixology (from Late Night)...

I would love a dolphin companion if they made use of Pets, for example.

Also, was it me, or was there a brief blurb about 'Playing with Krakens' in the text sequence at the end of the video?  Of course, I expect it to be rabbitholed or something, but still.

I am not much on the business stuff, but the exploration definitely has me jazzed.  I loved that part of World Adventures...

Of course, mermaids.  The more, the merrier.  I know someone decided to get Sims 3 because of the promise of mermaids (and the unicorns in Pets helped ).

I can imagine evil sims trying to crash into an iceberg or island for Titanic or Costa Concordia (or how was the ship crashed in the Italy called) referrence.

They probably won't, considering how people actually died when those events happened. They might have, "The boat sunk, and you died," or have a story about a made-up shipwreck, but I don't think they'll actually outright reference anything like that. They might reference the James Cameron movie, maybe with Jack and Rose sims, maybe putting the words, "heart will go on," in an item description, but the actual tragedies themselves? Nope.

 I watched the PC trailer on YouTube the other day and I must say I'm intrigued by the mermaids and I saw a mother holding a toddler wearing little arm floaties and was splashing him through the water. Just watch it. It looks like it'll be a good EP to go with seasons. I've decided to put off buying Sunlit Tides from the store.

I can't wait for this expansion pack, I think it's probably the last one I will buy for the sims 3 because of the upcoming sims 4. I can't wait for the mermaids!

We need to know more about the mermaids!! Can they transform at will via a self-interaction? Do they need a bathtub in case they spontaneously transform just from touching water? Will they have different motives, like dryness/flakiness in place of hygeine? Can their tail colour/design be editted in CAS? So much to know. I can't wait for the next broadcast.
