Island Paradise Expansion Pack

Apparently EA has announced that along with Sims 3 University Life there will be two other Expansion packs released, one being Island Paradise. Supposedly, Island Paradise will 'set sail' in June.

"The Sims 3 Island Paradise, will be an expansion pack filled with adventure, exploration and a world of new discoveries set on the sunny shores and beneath the glistening water of a tropical paradise. For the first time ever, Sims can take the helm of fully customizable houseboats and set sail in search of uncharted islands, create, own and manage resorts or discover what lies beneath the ocean through the new skill-based scuba diving and snorkeling activities. The Sims 3 Island Paradise introduces all new ways to build - whether it’s a lavish five-star resort, a bungalow on the water or a houseboat that can travel the seas. Players can create their own idea of island paradise for their Sims in this new expansion pack and embark on an unforgettable journey."

Do you have any official documentation or just the live broadcast?  Without something beyond the video, this topic will be locked until something more concrete comes along.

I found a press release that mentions Island Paradise but at this time there isn't a lot of information on what will be actually in the new expansion.  So anyone who chooses to respond, please remember to keep the speculation to a minimum.   We don't like to deal in rumors on the forum.

Screenshots don't count as official without something written from EA that's why we don't start threads until we see an actual press release or blog post from EA themselves.   This has been forum policy for a very long time.

Screenshots can be manufactured.   I know people who are so good at photoshop they can make a picture that actually shows my hometown being invaded.

That wasn't my point, Corey.   You responded while I was updating my post to say that a screenshot had been placed in a thread where it would be off topic.  I took that to mean that you felt that a screenshot was justifiable proof.   I was informing you that we don't accept screenshots as justifiable proof of an expansion.  Even if it was from the live chat.  That is forum policy.  You could have Graham Nardone in the picture with the box of the expansion pack in his hands but without a blog post or press announcement, we wouldn't allow a topic about it was all I was trying to say.

Though I realize we are not really supposed to be doing a lot of speculating and rumoring, when I saw the live broadcast, from one of the comments made, I'm gonna guess the new occult will probably be mermaids.  It would certainly fit with the theme.  But I guess we'll just have to wait a couple months and see what new info comes out.

One thing we do know for sure is that there will be boats and houseboats.  I've spent my whole life until this year on the water so this is a big thing for me.   This expansion will probably make me happier than university ever will.

University would be good if it means we can start half way up the career ladder for certain careers. It would be nice if it has more options that sims 2 - so we can major and minor in particular subjects, and what subjects our sims take effects how far up the career ladder they can start in different careers.

Boats and houseboats , that sound like a great addition to the Sims. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this Expansion in the coming months . Ea has been putting out some great stuff for some time now. We're really getting spoiled . I'm loving it though !
