Shame they don't have a paddle wheel attachment...would be awesome to make a riverboat (and with the Lucky Palms content, or the other gambling stuff, one could have a riverboat gambler)

The embargo from all the IP community days ends today.  So expect a lot of information to suddenly flood towards us.  I will try to get an organized list together of all the information in one place or I may just link to SimsVIP who had someone actually go to one.


Platinum Simmers Article on Island Paradise

Remember the controls that Graham posted a while back?



Platinum Simmers found out what they are!  Most people said houseboat controls but that's not it at all!

While placing a house from the house bin on a lot that is too big, it would be placed in the middle with a lot of space left on the sides. These controls allow you to move the house to sides of the lot.

Yes. You can move the house around on the lot. You can only do this while placing the house on the lot, after that it is stuck in position.

Mostly in the water.


Mostly on the land.

Twitter is almost on fire with the embargo on Island Paradise over! So many amazing new features being added! Including one that seems so minor yet to me sounds awesome!

Rica also confessed her love to SimGuruGraham thanks to his work in making sure moving towns won't majorly damage Save File size!

Edit: SimGuruGraham just tweeted that the World Movement and Lot Controls will be in the next patch!

@Sims_Ricalynn It won't. I made absolutely sure that moving between towns won't continually bloat your save file size. It's quite literally a full move; we aren't retaining the information from your previous towns, so consider it as a way for your Sims to wipe the slate clean and start a fresh life in a new town. The game will warn you as to which information is saved and what's wiped clean when moving to a new town.

For those that may be a little lost - it was found out that Sims will be able to move town for §20,000.    I don't know about you guys but this excites me.  Especially for the Townie DecaDynasty.

SimFans.de have created an interactive map of Isla Paradiso! Some good shots of the houses and lots! Their site is in German however the interactive map is just images I believe.

Yay!! I love big lots but am a terrible builder, so end up plopping imported houses down in the center of 64x64 lots. I've been waiting for the "position" tool a long time. AND, having huge lots all over the place does create ginormous save files. The new patch is going to really be a lifesaver for me.

Graham just tweeted this about moving worlds:

Moving between worlds isn't the same as exporting a family. We save more information like how old your family is, the current season, etc.

It saves relationships between household members, not relationships with Sims from other towns. Retaining the state of every world that you've visited is what would lead to exceedingly large save files.

@CAW_Wiki @carlssims3guide Just to tag onto what you're chatting about - moving will retain info in the skill journal, as well as ghosts in a tombstone you bring along. The family tree will be preserved for any Sims within the household that move with you; those that remain behind in the old town will be lost. We aren't using the travel system for it; the base tech is from import/export, with some additional information being retained that we don't normally preserve in the Sim bin.

The mermaids that Platinum Simmer talked about sound amazing! The Hydration need sounds a lot like Plantsims. Now, I'm just wondering how a sim becomes a mermaid!

I felt a little torn between this and Dragon Valley but not anymore, this wins, just read some of those links and it all looks amazing, so pleased about being able to move houses on a lot and that it comes in the patch along with moving town, I wonder if you can pick a lot up and shift it a little, just thinking of the weird auto placements where they aren't by the road.

I can't wait to try out being a self employed diver, really glad they added a job for it.

Wondering about the private lots if it lets you place rabbit holes on them, because of resorts, would this mean any rabbit hole and would the game still sell the plot or not, be interested to find out.

This new info just made IP sound even more awesome! I really love that there will be a more easy way of moving towns. The lot placements! I love that they have finally come up with a solution for this. No more rebuilding from scratch when you get a new idea and have to get a bigger lot.
