Thanks for posting the SimSupply walk through. It made me take note of some things I missed when I watched on my own (to many bright colors you see). I'm most happy about the new foundation that seems to be able to go over water. And I'm intrigued by the message in a bottle - is there a real message in there? Can you send one of your own?

I also broke down and pre-ordered even if I had decided not to. Oh well, gotta feed my sims addiction somehow.

I love the pool bar1 I nev er knew what they were, but they look fantastic! If someone has LN and IP, could you make mixology pool bars?

I love pool bars! When I go to Aruba, there is a pool bar with smoothies and its so fun I love the toddler interactions, I think toddlers are going to have a brand new swimwear! I hope they have more bathing suits, they dont have many right now, especially for kids. I can't wait to see the pre-order stuff, because I'm definitely pre-ordering. MERMAIDS!

Kids definitely need more swimsuits! I just made a kid, and was downright angry at the swim suit selection. When I was six or seven, there were more swimsuit options for me!

Last time I looked, which was a long time back, it seemed like most of the male kid's swimwear, was underwear.  Just seemed odd to me.  The water wings looked cute though.  Would be neat if learning to swim was a new life skill for toddlers to learn.

I'm hoping the mermaids can be added to the households, and will be a playable lifestate. I mean, they could have a power to turn into human sims, not permanently but for a certain period before needing to be back in the water, or maybe it's the water that transforms them. I could do imagine doing a Mermaid Melody like love story if they were a playable life state. How awesome would that be??

I just ordered my copy through Carl's Site . It was just as easy as on The Sims 3 Site . I'll be using Carl's Site for my orders from now on .

I haven't read much about how SEA will affect the game.  I know that the ocean (salt) will keep the water from freezing, but what about snow on the islands?  In topical countries there isn't snow; it is too warm of a climate.   Do we ignore it and accept it as part of the "fantasy" of sim worlds?  Just as we do about the supernatural being; we know realistictly that vampires, weres and fae don't exist.  We accept it in the game, so is that what we are to do with this world?  I don't have a problem with that, don't get me wrong, just wondering if they have given any info about the seasons in this world, what players will see, experience. 

I'm not big on tropical places, mainly too hot for me, but I am a hills, mountain girl, need my hills, but it does seem interesting and one I might consider.  Not sure yet if I want to spend the bucks on it.  Disappointed in another town so am being leary of this one.

Janna, I would imagine that you can control seasons in Island Paradise the same way as in any other world. You could disable winter and turn off snow or even uncheck every season except summer.

I see from the trailer that it looks like my always-wished-for saving-from-drowning interactions are here. (It's a sick little obsession I have - I LOVE water rescue stories.)

Some of the new blueprints available include guest suites for resorts and 7 x 7 pool blueprints.
When you own a resort, you can manage your resort by clicking on the lobby desk or the lot like you can for current real estate.   
All amenities added cost you money to have in your resort as upkeep for the resort.
Poolbars can have special drinks set.
Resorts will have some things that are required and one of them is a rabbit hole "tower".
Hot coals have multiple settings for heat control.
Firewalking is a new skill (probably like skating).
Limited Edition version of the game comes with an "Island Survival Pack."  Still under development so full details not available.
Don't have to own a resort to visit one. 
Resort is a new community lot choice.
New world named Isla Paradisa. 
Resorts can be placed in any homeworld (Not confirmed for vacation worlds).
Resort uniforms can be completely customized.
Lots can now be placed over water, too.
Sims can live on random islands.
New feature being added is a private lot.  You can discover new islands and have them as a separate place to live.
Boats have to be purchased.   You will not be able to do anything more than swim across the water if you don't buy one.
New greeting - Shaka Bra.
There was an option involving mosquito spray.  (No one talked about it)
If you have a pool bar & Late Night installed, it will be considered a professional bar to learn mixology.

This is going to be a super expansion . I really like the resort . I think this will be great fun . I'm quite anxious to see all the new things that will be available for builders . Building a resort , I think will be great fun . There are so many new things for our sims to do with this new expansion . I think discovering new islands and being able to use them is a big plus . This is so exciting !
