Just seen live broadcast.  Didn't see much as my live stream for it was not as fast and sound was cutting in places.  Anyone else have that problem?

Mine started out rough, but it got better after a few minutes. It was very fun to watch. The gym in the University town looks really neat, from the brief glimpse they gave of the inside. Also liked the herbal tea options at the barista stand. Sim Guru Britt said different teas would have different effects, like to boost studying. I went and finally pre-ordered it as soon as it was over!

Here is what I learned from the live broadcast:

If you order from Origin before March 4, you can also get Seasons for half-price.

Plantsims go through all the life stages (in Sims 2, they were only toddlers and adults).

If you get a barista bar, you can make the herbal teas at home.

The plant sims in TS2 also became elders.

Yay! I was always so annoyed that my plants sims only had three lifestages. Now my wish is fulfilled!

Crin has officially posted a post on how to prepare for Uni Life if you use mods or CC.  These are some basic steps to take no matter what you do with your game whether it's install an expansion pack or it's just patch up.   You can find a direct link to the prep post here.

Saw the live broadcast. There was a girl wearing a school uniform there, I'm so excited for this, I've always wanted to be able to dress my sims in one, now I finally can!  The comic book store looks awesome too, excited for bowling, I love it in real life!  I hope our Dynasty founders will be allowed to attend University right away and not have to wait like they do for travel.

That's a good question.   If anyone else can think of questions like going to Uni before second gen - send me a PM.   I'm working on the list of things that need to be addressed for all three dynasties right now. 

Slipping me questions I'm not thinking of will allow players to play with the content that much faster.

Will Science be an acceptable supermax? I saw on one of the linked websites--no clue which one--that there are 10 levels and challenges . . . it's all so exciting!

Don't know but please like I said.  Send me questions via Private message.   Just hit the little chat bubble icon on the left.  That way I can see the PMs in my email even when I'm not on the forum.   I'm hoping to start playing ASAP to give Metro the information he needs to make these decisions.

As long as the new skill is like all other skill (which I think it is) it should be a supermax.  There may be limitations into what can be done with it though.

Is Science a new skill? I've been wondering if University will come with new skills or if it will just use existing skills, hopefully the former.

According to all the information previously posted there will be at least two new skills - Social Networking and Science.  There is also a street artist skill that reaches level 10 but it's unsure of how these skill will present.  I've seen photos of the skill journal with the science skill which means it works like the other skills in the game.

The other two I haven't seen any pictures about so I don't know if they are the gambling skill or if they are like the painting skill.

That is awesome, I am so glad they are giving us new skills to play with, hopefully some can be supermaxed!  I wonder if the Computer Wiz and Charismatic traits will help with Social Networking skill?  Have to wait and see I suppose.

I don't know about traits helping with the skills, but some are tied to the majors. Like computer whiz helps with technology, Artistic helps with fine arts, genius is science I believe. Charismatic helps with communication. Of course there is more than one for each major, those are just a few as an example. I know because I saw it in a lets play that someone started, with permission from EA to do it before the release.
