I was considering possibly skipping this one after not enjoying Sims 2 University but think that was mostly down to the fact that the time you spent there was far too long. One/Two weeks sounds just about right for my attention span  ;D

I agree Snuffles, 1 or 2 weeks of sims university is absolutely perfect for our little minds. Saying that, I do have a longer attention span than many of my friends.

By the looks of it, we can see our sims in school on Tuesdays and Fridays! Yay!

That was really interesting Gogo. Since I'm a nerd, smarty pants ecetera, my sims probably will be too, so this has gotten me even more excited for its release.

To those of you worrying about the timespan, a term can be a maximum of 2 weeks, but you can't graduate in only one term. After the term ends, your sim goes home, and then can return whenever you want them to.

Think of it like WA adventures. You're not expected to max your visa in one trip, nor are your sims expected to graduate after only one term. It's supposed to be the equivalent of going home for the summer. This was all clarified in the recent sims 3 blog uni post. I'm on mobile so I can't find it right now, but I'll link later if someone else doesn't get to it first.

They also mentioned that you can choose the number of credits you take-- up to 18 per term, and it takes 40 to graduate.

I was thinking a week doesn't seem long enough to get anything done in! So I really like that idea! I thought that you went for one or 2 weeks and then you graduate but it appears that you will need at least 3 terms to graduate if what you said is correct! I like that idea much better!

Well it's certainly much more realistic that way. I like it too.

I agree. We can get sick of Sunset Valley, go to university for a week or two, get sick of that and come home, just to get sick again. Luxury!

Here's the forum conversation involving an EA rep. They clarify that degrees take 48 credits to complete (earlier I said 40-- the image is hard to read).

http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/45/639270.page

It also has a screencap of the Send to University screen:

It shows that the max amount of credits per term is 18, and a progress bar showing how many credits have already been earned by that sim. It is from an official University Life video (livestream?) that EA did in January.

I see frisbees and hacky sacks (or kicky bags), pennants, books, and a couple of things I can't identify.

It seems quite fun in general. I wonder how populated the campus will be. I hope it won't be a disappointment like some Bridgeport clubs, where only a few people showed up.
Does anyone know if we can send two sims at the same time? I don't think I'd like to go through the same thing over and over again in my large households. It would be nice if two or more young adults can go to universities at the same time.

The answer is yes to that.  Durring the first live broadcast, they guys sent two sims to university.

If they're aiming for reality, a few credit card applications with absurdly high interest rates ;)
