They also announced an unnamed Time Travel EP, and an unnamed movie-themed stuff pack. Here is the Info for Island life from SimsVip:

Dropping anchor this June is The Sims 3 Island Paradise, an expansion pack filled with adventure, exploration and a world of new discoveries set on the sunny shores and beneath the glistening water of a tropical paradise. For the first time ever, Sims can take the helm of fully customizable houseboats and set sail in search of uncharted islands, create, own and manage resorts or discover what lies beneath the ocean through the new skill-based scuba diving and snorkeling activities.

The Sims 3 Island Paradise introduces all new ways to build – whether it’s a lavish five-star resort, a bungalow on the water or a houseboat that can travel the seas. Players can create their own idea of island paradise for their Sims in this new expansion pack and embark on an unforgettable journey.

They also have a screenshot of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/simsvip/8361394109/

Wow.  Just from the few pictures posted in this thread you'd think the idea of going to college was drinking, sex and law breaking.   ::) :-\  The only reason I'd even purchase this expansion would be if they had cool objects and I could basically turn off the rest of the expansion somehow or ignore it without making Sims unhappy.  Disappointing.   :-\

I'm looking forward to the sketch pad and the various objects you get that are supposed to help with your major. I'm curious about what you can get at the comic book store and about what you can do with the backpack. And the science project sounds very intriguing. When I played TS2, I always sent my sims to University, and I'm looking forward to doing that again.

OMG Wow! I never played Sims 2 or 1, but I loved the idea of sending my Sims to University. Having never gone myself, I'm betting the first thing I do when I get the expansion pack is to send my Simself to Uni! I bet she'd be such a nerd. And Socially Awkward is so me, it's not funny! The other expansion packs and the stuff pack look awesome as well. Even though it seems it's nearing the end of Sims 3 :( I think 2013 will be a great year for us Simmers.

Just finished scouring the web for everything pertinent to University Life. I'm quite looking forward to this one; it seems a natural progression in the life of any Sim.

Some questions (hypothetical, I guess) ...

1. Can our Sims meet the love of their life at University?

2. Will our Sims be able to return to University for pursuit of additional majors?

3. Is there any possibility our Sim could stay on afterwards and become a university professor (just kidding, already know that's a no)?

Lately, I've been spending more time in Build Mode than playing a Sim; so, I'm really hoping this new expansion will provide us new tools and architectural styles -- Beaux Arts, anyone?  :P

Was desperately hoping for Open For Business or a farming/agricultural EP, but I guess that's not to be  :(

I'm wondering about the new Science skill. It seems that the Chemistry set from Generations, which raises Logic, should raise the Science skill when it exists. I wonder if that will happen?

I'd like the skeleton. But, having lived in a city with a University and gone through University as an adult, I'm not into the frat houses, Sororities, etc. Lame way to spend your time for education. I was not impressed with it in sims2 and will probaly not get it.

I'm not a party person, but I like the idea of Sims being a video game developer!

Although, my boyfriend was confused as to why I wanted Sims 3 University, as I'm currently attending college right now. Do you need a reason? Haha

If they don't have seasons enabled in the college world, I might organize a real-life protest. You can't make a New England-esque college town without autumn.

I (mostly) kid. The EP looks awesome.

University was probably my least favourite EP in Sims 2. Having said that, I'll probably still get this one (who am I kidding, of course I'll get it) if only for the extra content it will add.

I too was hoping for Open For Business, but it looks like that's not on the agenda (slim possibility it could be incorporated with the 'go to the future' exp?) if ever. But I was surprised that they were even planning to do more exp packs than sims 2 had, so I am hopeful that there may even be a 2014 expansion :)

I did not love the Sims 2 University either. I found it kind of boring and I didn't like spending so long away at university. This looks like it will be better though, I love the concept of the placement test and the student union and going into classes.

Listening to the broadcast, and the questions at the end, the answer to number three as far as I can tell is Yes.

And Salty, there's three new skills; Social Networking, Tagging/Graffiti and Science.

I for one am rather excited for University Life, they have expanded on the original concept that was in TS2, and I think my sims will enjoy it. Plus, it looks like fun.  :)
