Have they said anything about new careers?  What I liked best about University in Sims 2 was the new careers it opened up to Sims that had been through University, and I'm hoping it will be the same this time.

Apparently earning degrees helps with careers--Science and Medicine degree gives boost to Science and Medicine careers, etc. I also read something about becoming a "legend" in one of the three social groups (nerd, rebel, jock) opens up new careers like sports agent and video game designer.

So there will be new careers?  Great news!  Any new skills that anyone's heard of?

It was mentioned (I think in the Q&A section at the end of the broadcast) that there are 3 new skills. The only one I recall is Social Networking.

As for degrees, @SimGuruBritt listed them off in a tweet: Fine Arts, Communications, Technology, Science and Medicine, Physical Education, and Business.

I'm looking forward to this one, though I agree with pallyndrome about how tedious university could get in Sims 2. It looked like you could adjust the time spent at university in the live broadcast, so hopefully they've done something about the tedium this time around.

Yes I think the new careers are: Video Game Designer, Sports Agent, and something to do with art (the name of which escapes me).

I looked everywhere and saw no topic of this, so I figured I start one. If there already is one please let me know. Anyways, yesterday in the life broadcast they announced University Life and two other expension packs.

I think that EA is going to be really busy this year. I'm looking forward to university and more information on the other EP's.

I'm really looking forward to this expansion. I never played TS2 so it will be a brand new experience for me.

I'm intrigued. I have no experience with The Sims 2, but when I started hearing rumors of this being the next EP I looked The Sims 2 version up on the sims wiki and it sounded better than what I thought, enough to convince me that this could be a rather interesting addition to the game. I also have to admit that the dormant party animal in me is highly amused by juice pong and juice keg stands, but that's another thread for another day (and probably another website, lol).

I have some concerns as to how certain things will work, especially if it's going to be similar (hopefuly not identical) to a World Adventures-style world, but overall it sounds quite promising. Now to actually watch the live chat...

University was my least favourite expansion in TS2, it took forever, around the same amount of time as they would live as an adult! Really frustrating.  I hope this turns out better.  The first thing I thought of when I saw the video was, 'really EA, you keep the T rating with kegstands and 'juice' pong and worry about adding breast feeding!!' ( that's a major gripe of mine)
Moving on though, I'm pleased to see that YA, adults and elders can go, I think that will be fun!
