New Patch Problem- Solved

I cannot update my game with the new patch, it loads up then says invalid file and fails to update. I have not got any CC installed. The only thing that could have caused a problem is Union Cove which promptly uninstalled. Still won't work. Any help on this?

Didn't you have to use the superpatcher last time you updated?

I'm beginning to think it's time you did a reinstall to see if that will help.

No last time I didn't have to use the super patcher thing, I had to turn automatic updates off. (They're still off.) And it worked fine but this is something different. If I did re install I would loose my deca dynasty, and other games?

What happened this time is it gets to the installing bit, loads and is at like 99% then comes up with the message. "Invalid file found, cannot complete update" I don't think the super patcher will make a difference anyway.

No you can move all your save information to your desktop while you reinstall and you wouldn't lose anything.

I get this issue, and just use the Super Patch now. I've been meaning to reinstall too, but everytime I go to, something else crops up.

Can someone give me a link to a super patcher please, I can't find one. If i re install the problem will still be there, as it is a file that is wrong, the exact message it gives is "Update Error: Invalid file found " I think it might be a file gone wrong.

Reinstalling will reinstall all the correct files so it shouldn't still remain.  Plus when was the last time you did it?  It's good to do a reinstall every couple of EPs/SPs to make sure everything goes the way it should.

The super patch can be found on Sims VIP or crincrit's help blog.
