Why Try To Take Over The World?
Your average story or children's tale goes something like this. Good guy arrives, fights bad guy, good guy wins. Good guy gets his girl, and they all live happily ever after.
This is not one of those stories.
I hate those stories.
I've had an evil streak since I was born. I don't have a problem with that, but my parents and teachers sure did. They were always at me, whether it was to get better grades, get a job or just stop breaking curfew.
I always knew where I was going in life though, and I didn't need good grades, some stupid part-time job or even any skills yet to get there. When I was a kid, you see, I found this book. It was meant for me, I didn't nick it or anything. Whatever you can say about me, I don't steal.
The book made it pretty clear I was special. I'm destined for immortality, me and seven descendants. And so I didn't need to pay attention to my parents, just wait to turn eighteen and head off to surpass every achievement they've ever made. They didn't realise my destiny when they described me as unambitious at school. I'd say the I'm opposite, personally.
I turned eighteen, and here I am. Sunlit Tides, because a tropical island resort is the last place you'd expect someone to build up an evil empire. And there's pretty girls, and good food. Might as well have your creature comforts.
So, you can see why this isn't going to be a saving the world story, now. I'm the baddie that's coming to take it over. Fun, isn't it?
Oh, I didn't give you my name, did I? Sebastian. Sebastian Shark.
