Not worth the money, when you can put them in the swing and they are satisfied.

Don't like the swing - it's too easy. I am planning to wait until the change table is sold separately, then buy it.

I agree. I've never felt compelled to buy the swing. It takes all the challenge and the fun out of nooboos! I liked the changing table in Sims 2 though. I am not overly interested in the baby monitor except for one thing...toddler-to-toddler interaction. I don't think it's worth 500 points to me though.

Since one of the store updates, the swing doesn't make things quite as easy as before - it used to constantly raise the infant or toddler's motives, but now it only raises them whilst the swing is turned on, which lasts for two hours before an older sim has to turn it on again. It still makes things easier, of course, but I no longer feel like I'm cheating by using it  ;D

Gotta say, I love this new set. The monitors can get a little annoying, with my toddler calling out "Rock with me" autonomously, instead of playing with the peg box or other toys first. So I'm having to direct her to play with the toys, whereas usually I'd leave her alone and let her pick what she wants to do. The change table is wonderful, though. Changing an infant's diaper (when it's not dirty) raises their bladder need to full, so no more dirty diapers! I'm not sure this works with toddlers, though - I think I read somewhere that if you change the toddler's diaper when their bladder need isn't low they'll get a bad moodlet.

I still wish EA would have added the option to bathe toddlers in the bath and infants in the sink, like in Sims 2, but this is a good enough substitute.

You might have just sold me this set. It always seems to me that an infant's bladder need is out of sync with the rest - if I get an infant to have all six needs full, then set her down, social seems to drop fastest, and then once that's taken care of I leave my sim standing there like a dork holding the baby thinking "will you just pee already so I can change your diaper and get on with my life again?" - which usually happens just after the sim autonomously puts the baby back in the crib. Being able to reset Bladder on my schedule instead of the nooboo's is a winner. (and no, I don't like to just keep attending a swing.)

(Possibly also modeling the RL infant behavior where nothing makes a baby pee like having a dirty diaper taken off. There's a reason change tables are waterproof... :) )

Toddlers, at least, have other means for handling their bladder need...

One of the best things about this set is that in-game the changing table costs only 50 simoleons. Pretty much every sim can afford it :)

Too many sim points - for 250 yes, but 500 is too much for this. :/

The name of the bird wall decoration, "Put Some Birds On It" made me laugh. Pretty sure it's a Portlandia reference. xD

A few more observations about this set:

Both toddlers and babies can be changed at the table, which will raise their bladder need to full. Sometimes, however, they let fly in their parent's face, causing the hygiene needs of both parent and child to drop. If this happens, the baby/toddler can get a negative "diaper rash" moodlet. Both toddlers and babies can also get the positive "powdered" moodlet randomly after being changed, which is pretty cute.

There are a couple of problems with the set. Firstly, the change/bathe interaction ends with the parent putting the child down on the ground afterwards. It can't be cancelled, and it cancels out any actions you'd lined up involving that child afterwards (eg, if you wanted to feed the baby after its bath, you'd need to wait until it was on the floor before selecting the action, otherwise it would get cancelled). I don't know why the action was programmed this way, but it gets annoying. Another irritating thing is that if you have a baby or toddler in the high chair or swing, and you tell the parent to change/bathe a different baby, they'll go to take the other child out of the swing/chair first. This also can't be cancelled without cancelling the entire bathe/change action. I'm guessing this is a weird glitch of some sort. You can get around it by having the parent hold the child they want to bathe before selecting the bathe interaction.

A final annoyance with this set is, as I said above, that the toddlers seem obsessed with asking their parents to rock with them. For this reason I hadn't used the baby monitors much, since it means micromanaging the toddlers to keep them otherwise occupied, and I prefer to let them do their own thing. But I used them again today, so I could try out the new patty-cake interaction (which is actually peek-a-boo). I realised that you can just turn off any monitors you don't want in use at the time, so you can make the toddlers play together, then switch off the monitors so they can't keep bothering the parents. Also, the peek-a-boo is fantastic - just like when a child does it with a toddler, it raises their relationship really quickly. My toddlers went from having zero relationship to being best friends in about an hour. So, even though there are a couple of problems with this set, they're easy to get around, and the awesomeness of the new objects definitely outweighs any negatives.

For anybody who might be interested I just noticed the changing table is available separately in the in game store at the moment, it definitely seems worth checking for premium content every so often as I got the chicken coop on it's own through the in game store as well.

Actually we discovered a while back that quite a lot of Premium Content is available separately in Buy Mode. Handy, no?

I'm currently on the fence about getting this set. Is $20 USD (I'll have to buy a sim point bundle which is equivalent to it) worth 28 items? I try to make the most wise buying decision in the store, so are they really worth it? PLEASE BE HONEST

Well, the main reason I love this set is for all the toddler clothes you get. They're all really cute and it adds a bit of a variety.

To be perfectly honest, I don't use the baby monitors much but that doesn't mean that I don't like it. I do use the changing station a lot though because it's really cute and I like my nurseries to be cosy and it fills up a bit of space that would usually go spare.

I also really like the items you get with it. The crib is more modern than the two that come with base game (the metal one and the one with the arch over the top). and there is also a new highchair, potty, etc, as well as a couple of new decorations.

I think it's definitely worth it. I think this was actually my first set and I wasn't disappointed with it  ;)

Being totally honest I like the set as a whole, the clothes are cute and the furniture is nice but the premium content is a little lacking.

I haven't used the baby monitor other than trying it out when I first got the set, I do use the changing table sometimes but I'll admit to being disappointed in it, mainly because I feel they could have done more with it.

I expected it to be more like sims 2 I suppose not just a powder cloud obscuring the baby/toddler or a brief dunk in the water for the bath, the toddler bathing is quite cute but it's over very quickly and as for the babies, they could have at least taken the blanket off for once  :-\

And it has an annoying force put down after you finish, I don't want to wash my baby then put it on the floor  ::)

But other than that I'm still happy I bought it for all the other items it came with, clothes especially.

It also enabled me to get the January 2013 compilation for silly money in the complete your set sale so that was a bonus. And of course the non premium items are all sold separately so if you are still on the fence you could just get the pieces you really like on their own.
