Witches are the only life state I've found compelling enough to play for more than a generation.  Fairies look cool, but I just can't get into them for long.  I think part of the problem is when the town starts randomly creating new life states (I tend to play in Sunset Valley) sometimes the sims that end up as fairies just seem way out of character with the trickster personality, or they get ridiculous wings.  Nancy Landgraab being willing to play fairy games with me, or Connor Frio buzzing around with bumblebee wings, rolling wishes to throw a fairy party? (Which did happen to me in two different save files!)  Uh, no.  Too weird.

Werewolves and vampires just don't appeal to me at all, so I've never played one.  I was thrilled when we got the patch that gave us the option to turn vampires and other life states off so they don't spread through town.

On the other hand, witches I find a lot of fun to play.  I had an inappropriate and insane witch who caused lots of mayhem with toadification, love charms, and elixirs.  That game was a blast.

I've yet to play a witch, but I've had an idea for a fairy and witch living in the same house for a while now. Supposedly, these two supernaturals hate each other, so I guess it should be interesting.

I think I need to play around with supernatural sims a little more!

I've played vampires and wasn't a huge fan because of the burning, and I've played everything else briefly, but never stuck to it... at least not enough to have a favourite. I think after work I will go make a witch, since a lot of people seem to have those as their favourite :)

Could be interesting. However, if the witch has enough alchemy power, the fairy could find him/her self human!

my favourite life state is witch too... and fairy actually.

So far finally I found the most annoying one. Mermaid.
I had this mermaid who had this 40k worth of a boat in her inventory, but when she visit another island in "Isla Paradiso", she choose to swim instead of using the boat. I took her hours to reach the island. grrr  >:(

At the moment, Witches, Vampires and Imaginary Friends tie for my favorites. It's mainly because I've gotten one sim of those life states and got attached to them, usually a 2nd generation sim. So I save them to the family bin and test new EPs with them.

I haven't found a sim of the other states to like enough to consider, but I'm still playing around so it's a matter of time. I tried a werewolf when Supernatural came out but I didn't have the patience to see it through. Same with fairies. I've never gotten an alien; everytime one of my sims gets abducted, it's a girl or an occult male so I don't get anything.

I have one Genie that I've been playing for some time, but she got boring very fast, especially when she mastered a bunch of skills and achieved her LTW before her Adult birthday on a normal lifespan. Maybe I'll try again with a CAS Genie instead of a lamp. I've never seriously played a Ghost so maybe I'll try that next.

My favorite five in order from favorite to less favorite are fairies, witches, warewolfs, vampires, and aliens. Bet you can tell my favorite EP. My least favourite five states in oder of not favored to least favored mummies, plant Sims, sim bots, zombies, and I hate Imageary friends as you can't even fix them into anther state. I hate sticking to one state for long. That is why all my Sims become masters of alchemy.

For me it's Vampires hands down. I've always loved anything that had to do with them. Same with Mermaids, for nostalgia's sake. And if I need them to go somewhere I just make them "Boat Here..."
I like Witches, Fairies and Genies as well for their magic. Though, the Genie clean house thing makes my game lag like nobody's business.
Werewolves, I like 'em. Nice collectors and if you don't like they way they look you can just make 'em look different in CAS. Unless they bug out on you and return to that default appearance....which I've had happen before.
Ghosts....I wish I could like them more. But their noises irritate me to no end.
And whenever I get my hands on an Imaginary Friend I'll make them real, move them out and let Story Progression take care of them. (Funny coloured offspring!)
I felt that PlantSims were kind of boring and I never really played a SimBot, Zombie or Mummy.

Oh and I get Alien abductions so much I just ResetSim their target. So I can't be bothered to have my guys get pregnant when it doesn't fit their story. I did have one file where I got Connor Frio and Gobias Koffi together and have Alien babies, PlantSim babies and adoption babies. x) But I never got passed the child stage of the Alien, I'd already given up on them.

1. Fairies
2. Witches
3. Vampires
4. Werewolves
5. Ghosts
6. Sims

Come to think of it, I've never actually played a made-real IF or a mummy, and I don't have Showtime or ITF. Or an alien. Maybe I should make a file just to play with aliens. Plant sims are annoying to me - they don't do anything.

If anyone can tell I love supernatural a lot. I never play normal sims anymore.

Well, Supernatural is the expansion pack that got me excited to play Sims 3, so it is where I started. And in the years since, by far my favorite life state is Fairy. I hardly even garden, but my Sims do work on skills and the fairy auras are a great boost. I do play other life states too, but Fairy more than most. And I don't do legacy challenges or dynasties or anything - I just play the game. ;)

I am waiting until my kid (shown in my avatar with his Fairy dad) reaches Teen before I let him choose a lifestate - Fairy like the dad shown, Werewolf like his other dad, or witch like Grandma.  It will have to be by potion, however, as same-sex couples have offspring only through adoption, and so genetics don't come into play.

Thankfully, Grandma is an Alchemist, and I think the only recipe she's still looking for is the one that allows a Sim to become a Witch, so the kid can choose for himself.
