Resource For Floor Plans of All PreBuilt Game Houses?
« on: June 30, 2010, 01:34:25 PM »
Does anyone know of a website that contains floor plans for all the prebuild houses in the game? Just wondering before spending a couple of hours drawing one from scratch.

Why do you want the floor plans of houses already in the game? If you wanted to reproduce the house in another town, you could just save a copy to the library then place that down.

For one thing, you can't use pre-built houses in legacies, and as someone new to building, it would be helpful to see how things are constructed. What I'm doing instead is "taking apart" a house I like, but which I would have done differently.

Ahh, I've never played a legacy, so I didn't know that. Only thing, with the pre-built houses, there are at least a few that have been built with cheats and so just pulling them apart wont be all that helpful, but on the most part, you should be able to recreate them.

Actually, I think you can.  I just read through Pinstar's Legacy rules again and I don't see anything that specifies the house cannot be pre-made.  I also remember seeing houses on the Exchange that have "Legacy compliant" in the description.  There are rules about some of the things that can go into a house, so any pre-made house has to be in compliance with those rules.

Oh, I was misinformed. But then how do you add a pre-made house to the legacy lot with your family already living on it? I haven't been able to find a way, without using Edit Town or losing the garden.

Today I had a problem when I forced my sims to have a home birth (jeez, they really want to go to that hospital). After the birth neither one of them got  parental leave, and were chastised for missing work 3 hours after the birth.

I guess you'd have to use Edit Town and put the family on the clipboard, demolish the existing house, place a new house on the lot, then put the family back on the lot.  I don't think Edit Town is forbidden as long as the family never lives on a different lot.

That's weird about not getting the leave from work.  It shouldn't matter if the birth was at home or at the hospital.

Huh, the rules have changed since I last read them, which was last year admittedly. When I first read Pinstars rules it was specifically mentioned that you had to build the house, pre-made houses were not allowed. Oh well, I think I'll carry on that way as I quite enjoyed it.

In Pinstar's legacy rules you are NOT allowed to move into a pre-built house.
I thought you are talking about big families that you play a lot. ::)
Personally, I like to play legacies without rules.

Would you please quote the spot in Pinstar's rules where it says you're not allowed to move into a pre-built house and put a link to where you found it?  If I'm missing it somehow, I'd like to know where it is that I'm missing.

Legacy House: The lot initially moved into by your founder. You may not move the family to another lot during the entire challenge. All heirs must be born in this house (or rather, born from sims living at this house, even if they use the hospital to give birth)

It's located under challenge concepts.

I play without the rules but I thought in Pinstars rules you were allowed to use building cheats?

Legacy founders have to start on the biggest lot, leaving the sim to survive with whats left.
The sim can't afford a pre-built lot then.

Now I don't know what makes these pre made legacy lots safe to use so more info on them would be great.
