Sims won't go inside

I'm playing the Supernatural expansion. It worked fine for a couple of days, but now my sim won't go inside. I'm in a house with stairs up to the porch, which is where the front door is located. Every time I try to get her to go inside she walks up the stairs, but when she gets to the top she turns around and goes back down the stairs. The npcs are having the same problem, so it's not just my sim. Nothing is blocking the way. I tried quitting and opening the game again, and that did nothing. I'm at my wits end. Please help! Thanks.

Have you tried seeing if the door is locked to all Sims, or one Sim in particular? Or have you tried buying a new door/re-buying the same one and selling the old one?

I don't think it's a problem with the door. They don't make it that far. Just to the top of the stairs and then they suddenly turn around and go back down the stairs. I'll still look into that though.

I figured it out! Apparently the newspaper at the top of the stairs was "blocking" the way. I had tried to get her to pick it up and recycle it before, but she wouldn't. I was able to move the newspaper in build mode and now everything works.
