Blue plus signs

Hi everyone. Forgive me if this isn't the proper section. I had the Sims 3 on an older pc in which I could only play it at the lowest possible graphics settings, and now I have a really nice pc and can run the game almost maxed. But there's something happening during build&buy mode that I'm sure didn't happen before, and that's whenever I place an object or even build a wall a blue + sign shows up and stays there until I return to live mode. And if I delete something there's this little explosion ball or something with a plus sign in it. I looked all over options and can't find anything referencing it. It's quite annoying for after doing a little building I have to switch back to live mode to make those plus signs disappear so they don't obstruct my view while trying to build. If it matters I have the base game, World Adventures, Late Night, Barnacle Bay & Showtime expansions, and Fast Lane, High-End Loft, Outdoor Living, Town Life and Master Suite stuff installed. I'm hoping it's something I can turn off, because it really annoying and like I said, I'm positive it didn't happen before when I used to build.

Welcome to the forum, Apple88.    Is there any way we could get a screenshot of what you're talking about?   

If you're on a PC, just hit the print screen button and then open up paint.   Paste it and then you can save the image to be uploaded either to a picture hosting service like photobucket or our own personal gallery.   If you're on a Mac, it's Command + Shift + 3 and then you still need to upload it somewhere.

Okay, it'd been a while since I'd played but now I think I can explain the issue more clearly. What it is, is that normally when you place an object, a minus sign appears on the screen with a little "popping" animation as it deducts the $ from your inventory, then the minus sign floats up and fades away. Well now each time I place an object, the $ gets deducted as normal, but instead of the red minus sign it shows a blue plus sign, and the sign just stays there, and only completes the "pop-float away" animation after I've returned to live mode. And if it matters, I'm building on a vacant lot in Sunset Valley.
