As the series first stuff pack, High Loft was just disappointing. To download the rest of a theme's content from the store, in my opinion, a rip off.

So assuming they follow that trend this car stuff pack and beyond is not on my shopping list.

Another idea for those who haven't signed up for it yet, register on ea.com and they'll send you a coupon on your birthday.

Really? I've signed in months before my 24th birthday, but I didn't find anything that looks like a present to me. And I am on my way to being 25 soon... EA has to hurry. :P

This is where you want to register, not just on the Sims 3 site.

Thanks Aria! My birthday's comin' up, so I'm pretty excited. Iunno about this new stuff pack, because I bought the High End Loft Stuff pack because of some of the furniture and the bonus items, which were the guitar, the fish tank, and the heart bed. I'm normally very skimpy when it comes to game stuff like this, so I may not buy it...But those record shaped rugs are cute... :'(

Looks like it was officially announced last night here http://www.thesims3.com/community/news.html?selMonth=5&selYear=2010&intcmp=eaint268#295131341
I like the idea of items to match the four different lifestyles they mention!  I'll be going spy/intrigue all the way :)
Personally I think stuff packs are a waste of disc space. Why? Because what's the point in gaining more stuff if you don't do anything to the gamplay. Costumazation?
Wait- I just answered my own questsion... Fudge biscuts...

I think the stuff packs can also bring in some dough for the EA so that they can make more good expansion packs. Either way I'm powered up for more!

I am against custom content, not because it's made by other players, but because it can be dangerous to download it... It can give you some nasty surprises. I think EA should release a 'furniture/clothing modification tool' so players can make their own stuff in a safe way.
I partly agree with Master Siwel, but it could be so much easier to add stuff to your game with a special tool. We already have "Create a pattern", so let's see what the future will bring us...

I have to say, those new cars are kind of awesome.

Having the ability to create our own stuff? With additional things like determining how fast that home made car will go? If that is what you mean, I like the idea, too, but, and there is a but, when EA will do that we almost can create our own expansion packs, or stuff pack and people are going to sell the stuff on the internet for sure.

One step further and we players can mod the .ini files in The Sims 3 to really create new gameplay, and therefore coming dangeriously close to a home made expansion pack.

It's starting to drift a bit off topic here.  This thread is specifically for discussing the Fast Lane stuff pack.

I hate it that they announce the new SP so far in advance, but actually, it's good marketing.  I usually don't buy SP's but this one is all I've been able to think about since I read the announcement.  Chances are I'll buy it just because it's engraved in my brain so far in advance.  This one really does look good, (I love the cars), but I'm hoping it won't have the problems HELS had.  I still haven't reinstalled that one despite the goodies I loved in it.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Not yet, Pam. Are there any big advantages if you pre-order?
