They should definately bring back some of the other expansions from previous Sims games.Seasons was awesome in TS2 and I would love to see how beautiful rain and snow could be with the lovely graphics in TS3.I miss having pets, apartments and hobbies...with the new trait system you could have some very interesting hobbies(I keep imagining Jared Frio on an epic quest to set fire to every garbage can in Sunset Valley)The ability to travel between neighborhoods would be great as well.....like if a family moved out of Sunset Valley, you could find them in Riverview(and vice versa)except not everyone has Riverview.
One expansion that was pretty cool was Superstar...you could expand the music career and also have acting and directing careers as well, and if you were really good, you could star or direct a movie that appaears at the playhouse. They could even put a blurb about it in the newspaper.
I hope with the new expansions they add more careers. There just isn't enough to choose from, and I want my education career back!
Oh and I must have my hot tub back.Don Lothario demands it.

You and Carl both. My money's on EA throwing a hut tub in the upcoming stuff pack.

Don sounds like quite the romeo. If he ever hooked up one of Pam's ultra-fertile females, there would be some severe overpopulation issues.

Pffftt.  He was being mean to one of my teenagers in the pool today.  I think he's hot headed or mean spirited or something.

How about once they maxed out the guitar, they could try different instruments. That would be fun to see them play like a trumpet. I am a musician, bass clarinet (that will NEVER happen in the game) so I would love to see more instruments.

The single instrument I think is really weak for a game that's 9 years ahead of its originator. I know there was guitar and piano in Sims 1. Am I missing anything else? At least EA is caving in to my screams of an electric guitar in the upcoming stuff pack.

That's all there was Metro, but I agree there should be more in Sims 3 - and they should put it on the Store so we wouldn't have to buy an entire pack!
Personally, I'm hanging out for some drums. That would be awesome!

The instruments got me thinking....if EA added drums, electric guitars and pianos....they could make that relevant to the music career....so when your sim signs up for the music career, they would have to choose their chosen instrument. You could even have singing as an option (for the music career) and your sims could have a band! The band would be required to do concerts and jam in the park. I have quite a few musical sims in my game and I would love to see them all play together. I was also thinking that if your sim mastered more than one instrument, they could get some kind of special reward, like special sheet music or a new instrument of come kind. It seems to me they could do more with the theater and the stadium.
Something that would also improve the game for me would be more hair options, different careers, more clothing options (especially for the men..is it just me or did they get short shifted in TS3?)
Again, please bring back the hot tub!

I can just picture a MJ sim wailing on the mic. Someone should try to make a Micheal Jackson sim and post a picture.

One of the best things in the sims 2 was all the instruments.  In a large family, I would have family members all playing in the band and I would just sit back and enjoy the music.  That was awesome!  ;D  The only bad part is they only had 3 types of music they could play...got a little boring after a couple of years.  :D  That was really a great concept and dev are probably not going to go there again.

This is based on the talking about art selling on the first page and OFB discussion on the second.

What if we made a whole market system? Yes, have essentially OFB (which would be FANTASTIC now that it's a seamless world), but also have a mall or something where you can set up a kiosk and sell art! And there would be crafts and stuff that you could do and even publish a catalog or something so that you could just mail the crafts off, but maybe you could somehow make more on the street or something (or people would pay as much attention to the catalog, so there wouldn't be as many customers)

And then, for the band stuff that we were just talking about, I was actually thinking about that last night with the music career. There could be different, though equal paths. Or maybe even just eliminating the music career completely and revamping the system. Instead of going to the theater and getting a job there, you could go up there and sign up for a list of people looking for bands. Then, you'd have to do all of the micromanaging. Maybe a band member would call you telling you they hooked up a gig at a certain venue. Or maybe you have to go to the owner and use your charisma skill to convince them to let your band play. In addition, they could play around with the favorite music feature- if someone's favorite music is jazz, they sure aren't gonna want to listen to french music! You could make bands and solo careers, although I think it could get pretty complicated, so they'd have to limit the scope and expand on it in other expansion packs. (or use my idea of mini-expansions in the installer)

I feel super creative today and I love it.

this sounds like the weirdest thing ever but i think that teens don't have enough societal interactions
i would like for my teen sim (whos traits are family oriented flirty hopeless romantic and great kisser) to be able to have a baby with her boyfriend without downloading helpermonkey or whatever. that may sound bad, but
I WANT PREGNANT TEEN SIMSi also want the babies to be clothed
i want baby accessories: changing table, stroller, pram, swing, jolly jumper, carrier, carseats, etc
i want inter-age group relationships-- aforementioned teen has her eye on a young adult-- theyre best friends but she just turned teenager so we'll see how this turns out
i want more options with babies/toddlers/kids with adults. babies and toddlers have "no interaction" but it would be cool if you could have them cry on command or something

EA is not guaranteeing teen motherhood but it is a possibility

A lot of the stuff you said seems to conflict a lot with the generic WASPy conservative thing. I'm not saying that EA is pandering to them or anything, but it could have to do with ratings and, yes, marketability. The day the Sims is generally thought of as a game that promotes immorality is the day that zombies roam the earth, and I think EA is not a fan of zombies (although that could be okay for an expansion pack or something).

It's absolutely about marketability.  EA designs the game targeted at the lowest common denominator.  There are people who would refuse to buy the game if it was highly immoral, but there are very few people who would refuse because it's not immoral enough.  They will do whatever makes the most money.  It's just that simple.

Also, if you're going to quote something, it's a good idea to identify who you're quoting.

Pam, Metro or Carl - i have just noticed that there are two threads like this; can we integrate them into one big 'suggestions to improve Sims 3' type thread??  ;D
