Aren't phobias already existing as certain traits? The Coward trait has the phobia of darkness, fire, death, what else do you want? Phobia of flying would most likely mean no traveling, or no traveling for a longer period of time. No, thanks.

For these phobias, they would be like new traits -- for instance, Cynophobic - Fear of Dogs.

Traits like paranoid, cautious, jealous, fear of vampires, fear of celebrities, etc. would also be a bit interesting to see, lol

A lot of stuff people are offering can't be added any way but a re-release of an expansion pack or special patches. For instance, many have offered Suppress Vampires, Celebrities, or traits related to them, etc., but how do you expect that to be added to your game? That would result in a new patch, but that would cause problems for people without the Late Night expansion (me, for example). Or re-releasing the expansion, but how many simmers would buy it after already having the original? Thinking logically, EA would never do a thing which would result in a financial loss. The only way to get rid of vampires and celebrities at all is uninstalling Late Night. So, unfortunately, forget about it.

P.S. I hope this didn't sound too rude. I just wanted to clear up everything. :)

Traits like paranoid

Paranoid is already existing as a lifestyle trait in Sims 3 for Wii. It's rather similar to Neurotic. But maybe EA will add it sometime, just like they did with Shy in Late Night (Shy was previously merged with the Loner trait, and was removed from the base game).

That's not necessarily true.  Just because a patch exists doesn't mean you have it.  If you went out today and bought Late Night, I guarantee you that you'd get a patch the moment you installed it.

And the problem isn't so much that a setting of this nature would cause issues in a game without vampires.  If it were possible, such a toggle installed would simply do nothing, much like turning on a light that doesn't have a light bulb.  The problem is that since vampirism spreads by way of story progression, it would require a rewrite of the process and would likely necessitate the existence of numerous versions of that process to be installed on each computer.  You'd need the normal one, the version that didn't allow vampires, the version that didn't allow celebrities, and a version that disallowed both.  The Sims takes up a lot of hard drive space as it is.

But you're definitely right in stating that it's not going to happen.  And a rerelease with those two aspects removed is even less likely to happen.  There's not a lot of reason for them to remove something that basically works the way it's supposed to (it just works better than it should).  And asking for such a thing would be akin to me saying "I don't like China, so I want a toggle to make it so my sims can't travel there."  If vampires and celebrities are that annoying, just uninstall Late Night and be done with it.

How about get rid of the curfew too. Curfews are just pointless in my opinion. If it were up to me, as far as curfews go, only children would have curfews, and, they, not the teens would be caught by the police. If the rules remain, and teens still have a curfew, it should only be in effect on school nights, and be ineffective to teens that have been under rare circumstances (as in orphaned teens). Children should also have more responsibilities with their toddler siblings, and should be allowed to care for their toddler siblings independently (no babysitter required), babies, not so much. They should also be able to hold their younger siblings' hands when visiting a lot, instead of relying on their parents to carry them around. Toddlers need more interactions with their peers as well. And as for orphaned children, they should remain under the care of their older teenage siblings. In other words, if Michael and Bella Bachelor's parents were killed in a fire, Bella should remain at home under the care of her older brother Michael. The only way Bella could be taken away by the social worker is if Michael were to pass away, or he failed his duties as a caregiver. The babies and toddlers overall are truly unrealistic. Toddlers get in and out of their own cribs, they climb on things, they get into their parents important stuff, in real life, and SIMS 2 why can't they do it on SIMS 3? Toddlers do not like being picked up and held all the time realistically, it's actually really smothering. Babies social needs do not take a complete 180 in real life either. Babies do want to be held, snuggled, given attention, and they will get lonely, but in real life, they do not appreciate being manhandled every hour of the day. The only realistic thing with babies is their lack of bladder control, and their need to drink from a bottle. Toddlers, only realistic features are their need to learn skills in order to be successful, as well as the books and toys aiding in their development. They shouldn't be drinking out of bottles, or eating baby food. They should be drinking out of sippy cups, and eating solid foods in smaller portions. Also, I feel the babies are trapped when left in their blankets. How about getting rid of them after 24 Sim hours as well.

In the real world, teens have a curfew, too.  As the Sims is a life simulation, allowing teens to stay out all hours of the night (even just on weekends) isn't anywhere close to realistic.

but It's not enforced by the police though. Parents yes. Police no.

I'm from the Detroit MI area. So no curfews.

Actually I know in Columbus it is enforced by police. If a teen is caught out after curfew, they get in trouble. Can't remember what all gets done but I remember that law getting passed.

I do think children should be allowed to be left alone with toddlers.

Oh, trust me, it is very much enforced by the police if you get caught.  I speak from personal experience.

anyways am I the only one who feels toddlers should be able to walk (not be carried around) to lots with their hand held by a child sim or older? And children should be allowed to babysit toddlers if the toddler is skilled? Also sims 2 toddlers got out of their cribs, so why can't sims 3 toddlers do it too? Babies social needs are quite unrealistic as well. Yes, babies need constant attention, but babies in the real world find that much attention smothering. And they need to ditch the blanket after 24 sim hours.

Jeanmarie, what you are offering will probably be added in Generations. I want pretty much all of the listed too, so fingers crossed. :)

Generations sounded lame at first, but now it sounds as if my sims will act the way they were in SIMS 2.
