You needed a dish and bed that fit their neatness attribute.  If they had a neatness of three, they would never interact with anything other than the lvl 3. dish and dog house/pillow.

That said, I want my puppies, stat.  >:(

Oh, I was talking about Sims 2 pets, you seem to be talking about Sims 1.

No no, Sims 2 pets had five personality traits: intelligence, activeness, friendliness, agression, and cleanliness, with a score of one to three.  If you went with the cheaper feeding dishes only an animal with the lowest cleanliness would interact with it.

Granted and in an attempt to steer back to Sims 3, I didn't like that either and hope they don't include it in the next pets.

I don't like limitations on my aesthetic choices.  It just didn't look right when your country bumpkin was feeding his ol' mutt from a silver dish while he rests in his k9 mini-condo!

I think Ambitions itself was a sequel to Open for Business. After all, it had open careers based on OFB businesses. The most resembling aspect of course was the Consignment Store.
As of the next expansion, I think it'll have both pets and seasons plus some new elements (I would like to see a beach and an island as World Adventure locations). And magic (with the skill of magic). Magic is the most important.

Do you really think EA would include Seasons and Pets in the same expansion? Not only the content would be very limited due to unfocused main subject, they would also lose a lot of money.

@Naga - You're right, I've not thought about that. They sure will keep us waiting for seasons and magic. I would like the next ep to have all these things, and I think they'll call it The Sims 3: Everyday Living. They should have released the announcement already, like when they announced the release of Late Night 2 months after Ambitions was released. Compare: June 1 - July 20, and Oct. 26 - ? (probably in mid-February).

I think I'm going to take my official stance and say I want seasons.  ;D

I mean, just think about how pervasive it would be.  When you think about it it made a huge impact on the game.  You can ignore the vacation spots, you could skip college, but unless you actively disabled it, you can't ignore the rain.

Think about Shang Simla in the winter, a crest of snow off the Dragon Cave... Champ le Sims in the fall, the nectar grapes ripe for harvest!  Al Simhara in the summ-- err, nevermind, let's not think about that last one.   :P

@danefaith - I like the idea of mixing seasons with WA locations. But I wouldn't want my sims to die every third minute because of thunderstorms, lightning, meteors and illnesses...

And magic (with the skill of magic). Magic is the most important.

Magic will come in the last and final expansion. They always do that.

I'm not sure they will do it this time, Leto, because of The Sims Medieval. It has magic already.

The Sims Medieval is a completely separate game series. Why would they not include something like Magic in their best known and selling Sims game because it is in another stand alone game?

I'm quite sad that the Sims Medieval is a completely separate game series.  So I'm hoping that they will bring out something that forms a bridge between the two.

Maybe some expansion of function of the time machine where your playable Sim can be plonked down into a Medieval game or a possible Future World game, a bit like the way World Adventures works.

Maybe our Sims could learn magic in the past and bring that knowledge back to the present?

(The future could bring aliens and alien pets (along the lines of Spore creations) or more nifty gadgets.)

ETA Not actually created a time machine yet nor have I researched exactly what happens when one is created. I like to be surprised... hmm perhaps I'll do that whilst waiting for the next challenge start date - I've got all weekend.   So, apologies if playable sims can already actually visit the times reached by the time machine.

It;'d be really cool if you could buy a cloning machine! It could either make a perfect copy of your sims, or go horribly wrong, and make a clone with a flipped personality, and a distorted face.
