Well, as this topic is 18 pages by now, so probably most of my ideas have already been mentioned before (I read some posts but couldn't read all). So, I'm going to make it just short points.
-Piano , Violin , more music stuff.
-More clothes for pregnant females, and let it be specific ONLY for pregnant females.
-Toddlers interacting with each other.
-And if they can interact then be able to invite other toddlers over :D, they can be brought by their mothers or babysitters, and they can come to take them back by the end of the day.
-Clothes getting dirty!
-Sims WALKING together , I know they can ride a car or cap together but I want them to WALK together, maybe holding each others hands if they are a married or dating couple , or a mother holding her child's hand while walking. If they are just friends or brothers.... they can put an arm on the other's shoulder or just walk side by side.
-Visiting the hospital to know the gender of the baby before birth.
-Getting sick, needing to see a doctor or to take a medicine
-More parents' interactions with babies & toddlers, and more stuff for the Baby/Toddler.
-Weather changes, or seasons.

Changes/additions I would like to see
More musical instruments, there are hundreds of them in the real world, add a few of the to simworld and make up a few new ones (let the inventor invent them).
Pets - have them roam free, run away or be stuck in trees (and your sim will have to climb to get it or maybe call the fire department).
There are a whole bunch of stuff from the old games that should be reintroduced. Hot date was nice, as was Superstar and my all time favorite Makin'Magic).
I want a bathtub for more than one person. My flirty sims are bored with wohooing in the bed and the time machine. Maybe there are more places that I haven't found but I still want that hot tub.
Toddlers are lame, and why do sims leave them inside a burning building while waiting for the fire fighters?
I also want a search bar in the friends-tab.
Staffed restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the home town would be nice as well (and make the toilet thingies whohooable). Slot machines, videogames and the good old jukebox.
Let some of the old NPC's reappear. What's Marky Sharky up to these days?
I also would like more group activity items. Bring back the basketball thing and the pooltable.

There are also a lot of settings that should be in-game. Now we have to use hacks to get get unplanned pregnancies and other things that can make the game more interesting. I also think the the story-progression settings could be a lot more detailed than just on/off. I tend to like it on, but the changes it makes can sometimes be really odd. I had a couple living in a really large house with 200k on the bank. When I left them to set a up sim for some trouble in paradise both of them moved in with the neighbor and they were totally broke (someone robbed them or they blew all their cash on pizza?).

That's all for me. Now I'm going back to Riverview to help my Paris Hilton-sim raise her four kids (four different fathers of course, one from each country).

Cheers

Some of these things are supposed to be introduced in Late Night. Like I know more music is being introduced and I am pretty sure they are introducing the more public places to woohoo as well. Along with the hot tub. There is a thread for all Late Night stuff if you haven't read through it I would suggest it as it is very detailed and interesting.

Hey, Jersy, I also heard in a article that groups of sims will be able to travel togethor better, like in a literal group setting. If one person in the group ignores or angers another, they'll leave the group and storm off.

I'm looking forward to a skill pack. That would be nice. With a lot of new skills in it or providing the existing ones with even more detail.

I know it sounds weird, but...I want more foods. I also want to make Pizza at home, and be able to make muffins and such as a adult. I'd love to have sandwich as a quick meal option, as well, and I know that there'll be a sandwich cart driving through the city in Late Night. I'd also like to make more foods favorites, like Pizza and Boulibase.

Features that EA should have included in the game!
« Reply #262 on: September 20, 2010, 10:42:22 AM »
Hey guys!

Haven't you ever wondered why EA included one feature, but didn't include another? What do you guys think? What EA should have included in the game? I'm really curious to hear your opinions!

I'm first.

Pangu's Axe - Those who have World Adventures know what it is. You get this bad boy from the Heaven Tomb in China.

Alright, so you're able to use the axe to epicly smash large and stubborn rocks and clear rubble with ease, but you can't use it to smash open doors while raiding? I mean these are ancient, decayed and fragile wooden doors... Why can't you swing the axe at the door and smash open the next room? That would be very cool.

You'd say that this would ruin the thrill of solving puzzles yourself. Well, EA already gave us Zeneport... And if you're like me, you'd have mastered it as soon as possible in order to zap anywhere you want quickly and with ease. You can avoid solving puzzles anyway...

Another thing - you should also be able to use the axe against mummies for self defense! Why? Well, it's true that the wielder swings the axe kinda slowly shaman king style... But the mummies are very slow as well! You should be able to hit them with the axe!

Makes sense right?

This is all I have to share for now! :)

Ha ha. I love it. Sims 3 meets Diablo. And make sure that the axe has open wounds and crushing blow for extra damage. Sign me up for that new feature!  ;D

Nothing on that note but I always thought that they should have just includes seasons and weather in the base game. Some times I think pets but then at the same time an expansion for pets will surely include more than the base game would have.

Many companies do that, not just EA. In newly released games they do not include content that should be be included by default, instead they delay it until the next expansion so that people buy it... Meh, I don't blame them... they have to profit.

I don't blame them either and I totally understand why they didn't I just wish they had included some weather. Even if they didn't go far with it. Rain would be nice and snow too.

More foods is a nice idea TollingBells  :) Nanny and gardeners are good too.
I also want my Sim to be invited to parties, other Sims' wedding or birthday parties, Funerals as well.
being able to take a gift with him when visiting other Sims? (or attending the parties that he was invited to  ;D ) Receiving gifts on birthday would be nice too.

Like most people, I often think about "what could have been" as far as including stuff in the game.  But one thing I would like to point out:

When I installed The Sims 2, the amount of hard drive space the game took up was about 2.5-3 gb.  But The Sims 3 is somewhere around 5 GB.   So, even if it doesn't include everything it could have, it is still a much bigger game than its predecessor (at least in terms of the sheer amount of data).

But, back on topic:  I think one thing they could have done better is the use of vehicles.  It seems like they're mostly just for decoration (I mean, come on, they can drive right through each other!).  And buying one doesn't really convey a lot of advantages, since taxis are already free...

I think the fact that there is a Four wheel drive car but you can't go off-road in it is pretty stupid!
