I'd like to be able to install an underground sprinkler system - or at least a soaker hose that would cover a 1-2 square width for as long as you make it.

I do a lot of gardening, and the existing sprinkler confines you to some combination of 5x5 spaces.  I find trees much easier to manage in a line than an orchard formation, but you have to either place a row of sprinklers parallel to them or water them all by hand, which is very time consuming.

Also - players who get annoyed with Sims playing in the sprinklers would probably really appreciate such a feature.

Heh, the sims would probably still find a way to play in them. Locking the garden to all but one works for me, and her que isn't often empty so she doesn't often have time for free will.

The thing I find so amazing is that you can have a gorgeous swimming pool, fishing pond, and every other entertainment object in the game - and they'll still flock to the sprinklers en masse and make complete fools of themselves!  Maybe I play too many outdoor-loving types.

Silly, silly sims.  They are quite the entertainers.

I don't think any of mine are loves the outdoors but one might be haha. At least when they have nothing to do, they usually have needs to distract them before I fulfill their ques again instead of lining up outside the gardan gate and showing pathing issues.

I currently have a hot tub and two sprinklers in my game. There is a bit of sprinkler love, but it doesn't hold a candle to all the autonomous hot tubbing.

Really? My sims never use the hot tub, they're either scaring each other, or playing chess. Or maybe I just play too many Evil Geniuses.

New hidden traits that only modifies the personality and wants of the sim, and can only be obtained by Try for Baby in various spots and NOT inheritable. For example:

Babies from traditional bed woohoo are more... traditional and just normal.

Time Machine babies are more scientific minded and rolls more inventing/repairing/upgrading wants, like Handy trait, but only makes the game roll more handy wants for the sim.

Elevator babies have more unconventional woohoo'ing preferences and tends to roll morally unacceptable woohoo wants, like wanting to woohoo in a public place. Rabbit hole (theater, military base) babies probably should have this trait too.

Hot tub babies are more woohoo-loving and loves to woohoo like llamas during happy seasons, therefore rolls a little more woohoo wants.

Tree house babies are more childish, roll more playful wants, like sliding on waterslide, playing seesaw etc.

Sarcophagus babies love travelling.

Tent babies love the outdoors.

Actor trailer babies loves entertainment related stuffs like guitar, singing, etc. Like star quality, but only roll more wants.

Photobooth babies are more artistic and loves photography.

Shower baby love water sports, waterslide, sprinkler (evil ~_~).

Haystack babies are more nature, hippy-ish.

ETC ETC

PS: Hi Pam, post modified as requested. Sorry for any inconveniences.

Horoscopes should also affect sim personalities a little bit.

I noticed some sims roll more wants to interact with another sim of the same gender intimately, like kiss, or hugging, or even woohoo. Perhaps horoscopes should allow us to slightly affect that.

Influence slider for the amount of how much a trait influences a sims behavior. In both sims 1 and 2 sims were giving points instead of traits. 10 points for Nice means they are best at socializing, apart from the Charisma skill which may has an influence on that already back than.
I would like a mixture of both: Good trait, but how good is the sim from one to ten? Combine that trait with Evil (which you can't) and both traits will get 50% active automatically which the player can influence up to the amount of an equally divided 100% of maximum of one trait, divided over two.

Combined traits will influence each other: Loves the Outdoors gives a good moodlet for a sim outside. Loves the Outdoors combined with Green Thumb gives a better moodlet while being outside but in the garden.

I like the combined traits idea, kind of like a synergy effect. Perhaps hydrophobic should enhance the hidden pyromaniac trait, increase the success rate of transmogrification, grant more bonus from cozy fires etc. Its fun to think of some interesting combinations.

Personally, I think the trait system is fine just the way it is. I do think maybe bring back encouragement to nice and meanness, etc. but leave the trait system alone. I think it's a little silly for a programmer to put that much effort into a Sims' personality. It's not meant to be realistic, or serious, it's meant to be fun, and to play how ever you want to play.  :)

I'm not gunning for realism, but I want to make a mean-spiritied, neurotic Vegetarian that constantly stresses over meat and beats up anyone they see eating it. Not realistic at all.

LOL, I wish I read your post more carefully. This is one of the trait suggestions I liked. I would like for the mean spirited person to have a want/wish to be mean to the person who served them meat, and for a grumpy veggie to get the "out of sorts" moodlet when meat is served at the table. ;D
