We need a nice fish aquarium that we can put a variety of fish into.
It's in the HEL stuff pack.

Thanks for the information!

Some of the things that you used to be able to do with the Sims 2 I didn't know about. Now I wish I still had it installed so I could try. Oh well. Anyways there were some expansions for the Sims 2 that I really wanted to play but didn't get and now it seems silly to get them. So I would love to see them in Sims 3 plus I am sure they would be much better.
Mainly though I would love to see bunk beds for kids that are actually accessible on top as well. Strollers and playpens would be cool too. I don't know if you can do this but reading to babies and toddlers would be a good add on and quite realistic.

You can read to toddlers in Sims3, which I think is adorable.  You're right, playpens and strollers would be cool.  I can see it now, moms walking their kids in strollers in the park.  I still like the idea of businesses, I really got into that in Sims2.

Ok I didn't know if you could read to them or not but I will have to check that out. Thanks! Yeah Businesses is one of the ones I didn't get to play but really wanted to so I am really hoping they get one similar soon and the Apartment Life too. Hope they add those in sometime in the future!

I like apartments at first, but it seemed to have more glitches than the rest.  I liked designing them and then would never move anyone into them.  I say it would be neat when your sims had a party, you could get a DJ or hire a band or maybe a friend that is a rock star.  I liked the parties you could have in sims2.  I have had good parties with this game, but they need to add things to spice it up a bit.  All these ideas are good ones.

Yeah I liked a lot of things the Sims 2 could do, honestly though, apartments wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I did enjoy it because the children that lived there (by some glitch) didn't have to go to school because the school bus never came, they had to walk on their own... So obviously my Sim children slept in until 10 in the morning, had a nice breakfast, showed up to school late and still got an A and no one noticed they were late either!

What new items would you like to see?
« Reply #188 on: June 09, 2010, 05:07:05 PM »
I often find myself wanting items that the game does now yet offer or that previous games have offered. So I will start :)

I would love a basketball hoop, I don't know about lots of you but it is a staple in my neighborhood and many children and teens enjoy playing with it. For that matter lots of adults play with it too.

I would love to have the diving board back for the swimming pool, it would make the pool more interactive again as I find the pool well a little boring.

I would also like to see a bar for adults only, lets face it that is still where many single people meet in real life.

Also a dating site on the computer for the techies, because again let's face it, online dating is massive.

So, that is my wish list of the moment :)

What about everyone else?

Oh, I forgot about that, yes a hot tub (adds it to my ever growing list). :)

Interesting topic! And welcome to the forum KJSinclair.

The first thing that came up in my mind of what I will like to see is the ability of having a zoo. But that isn't an item of course.
Other than that: a piano. I definitely want a piano. Or a harp. I know those aren't really instruments that a man should ask for, but oh well: I do just love the sound of them. Like classic a lot.

Besides those I am hoping for a pool table. Or for the athletic ability I hope sims can work with dumbells and barbells. I am so into strengh training in real life, I do hope my sims could enjoy the same pleasure.

The ability of letting your sims build a computer themselves. Buying the equipment (or inventing them) and then make a computer specialized for the wishes (and thus traits) of the sims that either built it, or built it for.

Again: this is a good topic. You can expect a lot of posts here. ;)

A hot tub (although EA surely know a lot of players would like it back; wouldn't be surprised if it appeared in a Stuff Pack)
A slide for the pool
A piano, because I can actually listen to Sims trying to learn it lol, it's not a lot of rubbishly played guitar twangs (I like the guitar, but only when the Sim playing it can really play it)
The magic lamp, because I really liked the genie.
Being able to run your own shop. I liked the Open For Business expansion, I had a nice fashion shop.
Weather; although maybe with the addition of sun screen so Sims don't automatically get sunburnt after X hours outside. Loved making snow angels and snowmen.
Pets! But perhaps with slightly more options in creating them, rather than skewing your pet between: Smart/Dumb; Cowardly/Brave and something else. I loved having a cat in the Sims.
Grr Argh!

I am merging this topic with another one that also explores what new items we would like to see.
