Future Sim Improvement Ideas

Personally, I think an actual in town daycare should be ran by an unemployed (playable) Sim! It could be done at that Sim's house, and the kid could socialize with other kids there too! Those awful babysitters deserve to be driven out of business!

In The Sims 2 Life Stories, when you went out on dates or even just having a romantic dinner, there were options to steal food or feed food to your date when sitted of course, among other things. The interactions where great, even for dancing, there was the option to squeeze bottom, slow dance etc. I would like to see that.
In The Sims 2 Castaways sims could swim in the ocean and dig in the sand for little items to decorate the house, gift friends or sell.

I would like the possibility to invite sims that have moved away to visit (like you can with foreign sims). My sims friend moved away and I wanted her in the band.

I agree and there was also champagne to serve at weddings with toasting to the bride and groom!

I miss those "Steal a Bite" "Feed a Bite" "Food fight" interactions too! I'm officially in hog heaven with Sims 3 now, (Thank you EA for satisfying a happy customer with her furry nooboos!) so for my simple but humble request, I think the daycare should be in town. Like, Agnes or one of the Working Friends (Madison is the only unemployed one I think), could run their own daycare and parents should drop off their children there instead! Basically, I think the babysitters should be put out of business!

A FEW MINOR EDITS:

I would like to see toddlers be able to interact with each other.  I might have already said that, though.  I would also like for the voices of my Sims' kids to be different.  I get to choose the voice of the original Sims, but when they have kids, their voices are all the same.  As is most of the town's voices.  I get bored hearing those same voices all the time.  They could make them random and different.

You know, after reading this post and playing with the different families, I have started to notice this myself. Sometimes children will have voice track 2 (Miraj Alvi, Skip and Susie Broke), which makes some but very little variety, but everyone having the same voice is kind of annoying, and I don't like it at all. It's like Sims 2 all over again after a few Generations.  Sorry to bring up Sims 2, I know you haven't played it, but Sims 2, you didn't have the chance to choose the Sim's voice or pitch. If EA put a little bit more variety in the voices after a few generations, it would be great! Too bad the only way to change the kids' voices when they're older is Edit in CAS cheat. Of course that's out of the question for an official dynasty in the works. Sorry to bring up a 2 year old quote, but you're really on mark for this one.

I know this will sound weird, but if I focus too much on one game/thing (like the Sims for example) I end up dreaming about them.

Last night, I had one such dream where I was buying the newest EP. Weird, I know. But the new one was all about sports/fitness. Fitness/Athletics itself was broken down into different categories, such as Swimming, Running, Weight Lifting, etc. It also came with new objects for personal and communal gyms and more options for pools, like high diving boards and such.

There were new sports such as Ice Skating, Track, Pole Vaulting, Swimming, Gymnastics, and even High Diving. Synchronized Swimming was also an option, but was more of a rabbit hole. There were many more, which were more things of what you would see at the Olympics, but for all you G4 fans out there there were also a Ninja Range to become the Ultimate Ninja (which is an actual show on G4, and in Japan (or Asia, sorry if I got it wrong))

Kids could also train for any and almost all of these if they had the time, and join the gymnastics/track/swim teams, etc while in school and train to go into the Simlympics which would be a rabbit hole like the Equestrian Center for racing and jumping. YA and other age groups could learn as well.

So yeah, I get REALLY weird dreams, but I thought this would be REALLY neat to share. And this EP sounds amazing to me as well.

The thing that i would most like to see (they could include it in that expansion) is the ability to swim laps. they could have lane lines of specific lengths that could be added to pools. It would work similarly to the horse racing posts.

With all these sports suggestions, I'm beginning to think it's not impossible that they'll be included eventually.  They could mean individualized skills, no different than guitar, bass, drums and piano.  Given how EPs tend to parallel what was done in previous versions of the Sims, although we already have many of the actions from Free Time, we haven't yet really had a parallel to that TS2 expansion pack.  Hmmmm.

I also miss sewing.  It would be great to see that in TS3.

Though I never played Sims2, I remember looking at the games more than once at the store, and one of them, Freetime I think it was, had junker cars your Sim could buy and fix up.  I would love to see that in sims3.

I'd also love an anime themed stuff pack.  A bunch of anime themed decor like posters and action figures.  And of course, new anime inspired hairstyles.

It's just a pity the Sims3 store can't have free item sets now and then to promote various movies/video games the way gaia online does.  Say another Street Fighter movie is made, they could have a clothing set with clothes inspired from the movie.  I think an Olympics inspired expansion/stuff pack would be sweet too.  And that could be a way to bring in Seasons with winter sports. 

New travel destinations, and the ability to travel to other towns would be nice too.  Maybe being able to get out of town jobs.  Then things could flow better if you are like me and are just so used to sunset valley you don't like playing in other towns, but you want a Sim to pursue the acting career.  And if the different towns could be linked, then perhaps the Political career could be expanded more to involve visiting other towns to campaign or something.  But a new travel destination that is a ski resort would be great.

The problem with linking all the towns is that the loading times would be terrible.
