Twins...again!
« on: December 28, 2012, 08:29:02 AM »
My Sim was married to evil Count Snypes, and when she got pregnant the first time, she had twin girls.  She's a witch and he's a vampire, so they had one witch baby and one vampire baby.  I didn't do anything to force the twins...just ate watermelon because she wanted a girl.  Jump forward several years, the twins are teens, Sim is re-married (Count Snypes was just too evil) and she wanted another baby with her new husband, (he's her soul mate), well guess what???  Twins again!!!  2 girls, a witch baby and a human baby!!!  Didn't do anything to force the twins or the gender.

What are the chances of this?  Is it because she had "mixed marriages"?  Its not a problem, I just was very surprised...both times!!

Thanks,
Allie

Random twins just happen. Apparently it's a .1% chance or some very small number like that. The chances of it happening twice are quite slim, but it's perfectly possible.

The only time I've ever had natural twins was when the second gen in my immortal dynasty had them. Granted, she was a twin herself...

It's just something that happens sometimes. Your Sim is just fertile!

I would blam your sim's genes.

Do you have supernatural? Sims are said to be super fertile in full moon. Are the husbands twins themselves? That increases chances. Did you watch any kids TV and/or listen to kids music? Even if you didn't mean them to, it greatly increases chances. You may have not even noticed you were doing any of the boosts!

This is the first I've heard of these two things.  Where did you get this information?  A link would be great.

For the full moon thing, go to this website and scroll down to the lunar cycle section. For the second thing, I couldn't find any reliable proof, so I'm probably thinking of The Sims 2 because "If the parents ate twins, they are more likely to have twins" was definitely true back then. I wasn't playing he sims 2 that long ago, I only stopped last September!

Thank you for the link, bubbles.  The site is SimsVip, for those who didn't click.  Here's the quoted relevant piece:

Quote
Trying for a baby while there is a full moon increases your chance of conceiving a baby.

In my opinion, this means a better chance of getting pregnant, but not a better chance of twins.

Sorry for my miss interpretation of the website. So Allie, your sims probably watched kids TV or listened to kids music.

The kids music is the most likely thing, if you play with music off like I do you wouldn't have even noticed . The methods of having twins/triplets don't always work though, before I've done procreation elicits, kids tv, fertility treatment - the lot and only one nooboo. Then a different sim got pregnant and I just left her to it and she ended up having twins.
Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.

Did your sim have a romantic massage? that increases your fertility. I unfortunatley got a glitch from the massage and my sim ended up with the LTR for "fertility". Went back to a previous game, because I didn't want her to have a zillion kids.
