Tomba secret gossiping to Jasper:
Jasper, do you know the new fairy girl in Team Rubeus, Sir Oliver gazing? Some say she is referenced by our Sir's father himself. That's may be why he is gazing on her.:)

Now let's continue looking on our great founder before Sir catches us .

<nodding sagely> Perhaps...though our esteemed professor's reputation does precede himself. We should observe further.

*Whispers* "Hazel, the Professor is staring. My handler has warned me against him but, nothing makes a man more attractive than being off-limits."

Hazel: I thought you were not the flirty type. Are you saying you are attracted to the professor?

Keira: Did I? No, that's not right. Check out my application some time.
*Avoiding the question, Keira looks back at the statue, but still looking at the Professor nervously in the corner of her eye.*

*Ring, ring, ring*

"Yeah, what is it?  I'm just about to start my first class -"

"What did I tell you about fraternizing with the students?!  Are you so daft as to think that's how a teacher is supposed to behave?"

"I wasn't fraternizing!  I was just looking at them.  There's no law against looking, is there?  Those girls are hot ..."

"They're your students!  You have a duty to behave professionally with them.  DO NOT abuse your position with any inappropriate familiarity, is that clear?  Please don't make me sorry I trusted you with this assignment."

"Grumble, grumble, grumble ..."

Ezagutza: And just what are you doing Mr. Oliver?  Are you staring at those girls? Are you attracted to one of them? Which one? Why are you attracted to her?  These are important questions, man!

First Day of School, part II

Ben says to the students, “Now, if you'll follow me, we'll get started.”  The students, excited and apprehensive, follow their instructor to the classroom.  He steps up to the lectern.  “First, pay attention to the wall behind me.  It says 'Top Hush, Button Lip' and that, my dear students, means you!  From this point on, you are committed to operating under a spy's cloak of secrecy.  Anyone you speak to may be an enemy agent.  Caution is the order of the day.”

Keira:  “Isn't that Swirl-Girl's pattern?”

Jasper:  “I'm sure it is.”

Tomba:  “But I thought she was working for ESCARGOT!  Surely she's the one who created the design for their t-shirts?”

Ben:  “Yes, Swirl-Girl created both designs.  But we're not here to discuss the walls, folks!  The first thing you need to know about spying is that it isn't all bombs and guns, especially for Sims.

“Listen to this quote from the International Spy Museum's Handbook of Practical Spying:  'In the movies, espionage is all about fighting and outsmarting your enemies.  In real life, spies spend far more time making friends.  The best spies are the ones who can recruit other people to do the dirty work.  And a good way to get strangers to risk their reputations, their liberty, and maybe even their lives is to get them to trust you.'

“So your ability to make friends is one of your most important assets.  Those of you who took the time to study Charisma before coming here will find that was time put to good use.  I'm going to write your next assignment on the board behind me.  While I do that, please take the time to get to know your teammate.”

Ben turns to write on the board as the students start chatting.  His first lesson!  He wonders what they thought of it.  He was a little surprised to see everyone standing – was that like a standing ovation, maybe?  He overhears Keira complimenting Hazel.

And Hazel responds by telling Keira about her journey with Mr Payne.

Ben is trying to listen to the students while writing.  He hears Jasper telling Tomba, “You should see my little rat Beanie!  She's the cutest little thing, just the right size to fit in the palm of my hand.  She's a real star.”

Tomba responds, “In my studies of medicine, I have learned about potions and elixirs that can restore humans to health, but we've never studied rat physiology!  Anyway, your rat Beanie must be really cute after hearing that you cared so much about her. Actually, Rats are considered sacred for all Hindus because Lord Ganesh rode on one of them. I also love rats, especially white ones.”

Ezagutza says to Coline, “My favourite colour is white.  That's because white is the most pure, most perfect colour.”

Coline replies, “Personally, I've always been very fond of black.  It's my favourite, and besides it enhances the look of my wings.”

Ezagutza:  “"Black! Oh I HATE Black! Its only meant to hide things, and hidden things are terrible! Imagine all the poor redacted facts and figures out there, unknowable to anyone, and that just does NOT do!"

Coline:  “If we took my black and your white, we'd have grey, which I understand is a very useful colour for a spy who wants to blend in without attracting attention.”

The conversations continue, with Hazel and Keira making the most progress toward becoming friends, possibly because Hazel has the highest level of Charisma among the students, with level 4.  Coline isn't far behind with level 3 Charisma, but Hazel's Observant LTR means she can quickly find just the right topic of conversation to use with a particular individual.

“Ok, now if I can have your attention, everyone!”  When everyone is looking at him, Ben tells them, “Your first assignment is to befriend townspeople in Sunset Valley.  Each team is being assigned a particular group of people to make friends with, so be sure to check the board for your team's assignment before you leave. Class dismissed!”

Spying - A People Profession.  I. Sapphire

Team Sapphire Assignment:  Blue is the most universally-loved colour.  It has many positive associations:  trust, loyalty, strength and dependability - just the sort of image a spy might want to project.  But it can also symbolize depression, which is how a spy might feel if s/he fails to achieve his/her goal.  As a member of the Blue team, you are always interested in recruiting new allies.  How can you tell which SV residents might be receptive to your approach?  Simple - just get to know them, and they'll tell you of their fondness for your cause. Your task is to find and make friends with three Sunset Valley residents who have blue as their favourite colour.

Scoring:  Please record the number of interactions it took for you to become friends with each of your targets.

1.  Tomba Singh & Handler chetanhaobijam

Dear Sir Oliver,
OSS,

Tomba Reporting,

Sir as ordered, I searched for the townies whose favorite colour is Blue. I met Thorton Wolff in the Library. After some interaction, he goes off to his home. I also raced to his home and finally caught up with him.

It took 14 interactions to befriend him.

I found out that he is ambitious and he will be useful in our work.

After that I visited my local neighbor Erin Kennedy.

It took 15 interactions to befriend her.

I found out that she is athletic and works for the military. She will be very useful to us.

Later at night, I visit the Bunch household. But Ethan Bunch was not there. I waited by dancing at their stereo. At last when I was starving, exhausted and needed to pee, Ethan returned home.

Due to my condition, it took a long 18 interactions to befriend him.

Before I go to home to sort my conditions I found out that he is a genius like me and I guess he will also be useful.

Over and Out, Sir,
Tomba Singh,
OSS.

2.  Jasper Dartwood & Handler RaiaDraconis:

Operation “Code Blue”

Objective: Locate and befriend potential future allies

Field Report, Sunset Valley, Days 2-3

Subject #1: Erin Kennedy
Interaction Level: 12

Lieutenant Kennedy lives directly across the street from my abode, and in an effort to be neighborly I went over to introduce myself. It wasn't long before I discovered that she was receptive to our cause, and by the time the evening was over we had become good friends.

Recruitment Potential: Moderate to High

Erin's bravery and athletic prowess have carried her far in her career. She is fiercely loyal to her fellow soldiers and anyone whom is lucky enough to call her a friend. I imagine that, should misfortune strike, she would be both capable and willing to render assistance.

Subject #2: Buster Clavell
Interaction Level: 15

I encountered Mister Clavell on a trip to the police station. At first he was reluctant to talk, muttering something along the lines of “Young whippersnappers these days...” but slowly warmed up to my presence. His potential as a future ally became apparent when he divulged his fondness for the color blue.

Recruitment Potential: Nil to Very Low

While Buster seems nice enough, I have my doubts as to his ability to serve our cause. There are three reasons for this:

A) He is decidedly grouchy and somewhat reclusive, and thus may not be willing to cooperate.
B) He lives with his grown son—a son who has ties to the criminal warehouse. This is a major security risk.
C) His age might also limit the sort of tasks that may be required of him. (Personal note: I would just as soon let him enjoy his retirement. He has lived a long, full life and deserves that much, at least.)

Subject #3: Ethan Bunch
Interaction Level: 14

My initial meeting with Mister Bunch revealed much about the young man's character, and I deliberately sought him out again. Further conversations with the lad cemented my initial assessment; he has a very strong potential as a future ally.

Recruitment Potential: Moderate to High

Ethan is a likable, intelligent young man with a a bright future ahead of him. He seems to have a strong moral compass and can, I firmly believe, be trusted to do what is right. There is the small matter of his young age, but I doubt that it would be a problem if push came to shove.

Conclusion:

Scoping out the population for potential allies can be a daunting prospect. There is a very delicate balance between revealing enough information to ensure their trust, while at the same time holding back enough to avoid blowing your cover completely. I spoke to several residents in my quest...with varying degrees of success.

Indeed, sims are fickle creatures. Perhaps Mister Wolff would be more receptive to my colleague...?

Jasper A. Dartwood, signing off.
