Team Rubeus

5.  Keira & Handler Swirl-Girl

Journal:

Today I began my analysis of the local hot spots. So, after lunch I set out. First I visited "The Plaza", mysteriously, there was no one there.

I hunkered down with a newspaper and started scanning my surroundings.

I saw a woman standing in the alley near the dumpsters. Ayesha Ansari, I heard people whispering about her.

I also noticed a foreign tourist few feet from her. He was yelling to her about tomatoes. Was it a code? "The tomato is hiding in the grocery bag!" or some such. Perhaps they suspected me. Maybe they didn't.

I saw some roadies walking to work. "Pauline ; )" and "Legendary Zelda" their names were, from their name-tags.

I moved on to the art gallery, visibly perturbed by the tourist and Ansari.
Walking by, I saw a depressed-looking woman, dressed in black, and a brisk fairy, hot on her heels.

Seeing that it was 3PM, I decided to snoop on the kids leaving the school. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if I was harassed by an angry mother who's afraid I was going to offer her children candy.

I suppose spying on children is a little out of line, but I wanted my instructor to see what a dedicated spy I am!
A somber child in boots caught my eye. I wanted to go give him a hug, but then I'd really get in trouble. But why is he wearing boots in the middle of summer?

I decided to move on to the town pool before I really did hug a child.
But I quickly realized that I stuck out like a sore thumb.

Before I left for home I noticed a military person speed-walking past. The sort of fast walking one does when they feel they are being followed, but don't want their pursuer to know that they know.  Was she on to me?

I hopped into the taxi and was whisked away when I saw a pregnant woman on the sidewalk, and a car full of children about to hit her! I have no Idea what happened, outlook is grim. But I'll be checking the newspaper tomorrow.

End of report.

Instructor's comments:  Good job, Keira!  Ayesha Ansari is a known criminal in Sunset Valley, so you are right to be suspicious of her.

6.  John & Handler KillCupido

Sunset Valley seems like a very friendly town. Shortly after arriving, several neighbours had come and wanted to make me feel welcome. Their names are  Beau Andrews, Jocasta Bachelor  and Ayesha Ansari.

However, I didn't get along very well with them and got ridiculed by Andrews mere minutes after I invited them inside. Ansari seemed to be rather cool towards me, but liked the fact we shared some reckless behavior in our childhood. Of these three, only Bachelor seemed to like me personally. Of the three, I think Ansari can be the most useful, but more information is needed for this. Andrews is out of question.

After the visit, I decided to go to the Central Park. Bachelor told me it’s the place most Sims go to relax and I told everyone to leave, so I could ‘experience the park next to my new workplace’. The very first Sim I saw was Susan Wainwright, who told me very enthusiastically about fire. I’m not sure how that was relevant to my question about her job and why one must know the exact burning point of red sulfur.

A few feet away was my boss, Cornelia Goth, with her husband. They appeared to be on a date.  I didn’t talk to them, as that would have looked very rude.

A very curious thing: even though it was noon and a Sunday, there were no children in the park, save from one lone teenager playing chess.

That might have been explained by the fact that one Judy Bunch was playing around with a snake. To be more precise, it was a python. I’m beginning to wonder if all people in the Scientific Research are very into the dangerous part of life, or that something is going on. It might be the former, especially because the one lone teenager appears to be her son and she seems to be very taken with him. Likewise as with Ansari, more research is to be had before one can come to a conclusion.

It was evening when the first child came into the park, a toddler accompanied with her mother. This choice of words was deliberate, as her mother, Molly French, seemed to know next to nothing how to take care of her. I will try and take care to not let personal feelings disrupt this, but I’m reluctant to get close to her.

After that, I ran into Bachelor again, who was fishing. She told me that this was a good time to fish, in which we had a small discussion concerning fishing times and the legendary Deathfish. Until now, she seems like a harmless housewife, who does know a lot about several fishing spots. It might be useful in the future.

I was going home, when I noticed my boss’ son out and about. I don’t know who that woman was, but I find it very curious that he, with the toddler, were the only children around. Maybe this is different in Sunset Valley, but the children in Twinbrook were running over your feet if you didn’t watch out. This concludes my report.

Instructor's comments:  With his excellent observation skills, John has identified some very unusual and potentially suspicious activities on the part of certain Sunset Valley residents.  Definitely more observation is warranted.

7.  Hazel & Handler ombradellarosa

Mr Oliver:

I have completed the first assignment. Once I settled in Sunset Valley and acquired the necessary skills, I casually strolled around, taking notes and surreptitious photos. I won't include all the photos here, but I will some just to give you an idea.

The largest place of congregation would seem to be Central Park. That is where I had the opportunity to observe the most Sims, while seemingly quietly reading a book under a tree.

I have compiled several photos I shot both at the park and earlier that day at the hospital, where I went to establish my credentials.

The top row are Sims I consider to be possible potential allies, while the Sims across the bottom are those I will be watching.

Top row, left to right: First is my supervisor at the hospital, Geoffrey Landgraab. He's a cheerful sort and was very kind to me. I think he's the type to help poor Sims in need.
Next is Christopher Steel, a kind of celebrity in his own right. He seems a bit self-absorbed, but altogether friendly and I think he's a good egg.
Finally, Skip Javeed, the little boy who delivers my newspaper. He could be a powerful ally, given his access to every house in town and potential to be a messenger. He is not restrained by a normal school schedule either, and has the perfect alibi to conduct affairs during school hours. His young age makes him easily overlooked by the enemy.

Bottom row, left to right: Jared Frio works at the local diner. He is a most unpleasant individual. I heard him yelling at three different people during the time he was at the park. I am watching out for him--a man such as that could be very violent.
Ayesha Ansari and Tori Kimura. Ayesha Ansari is a known criminal and judging by her extravagant headwear, has delusions of grandeur. I must also question what an aspiring politician is doing out with a known criminal. Could this point to deeper connections with the criminal underbelly of Sunset Valley? I am keeping their whole household under observation.
Dorie Hart may be simply eccentric or something more sinister. I am not yet sure whether she is using her purported insanity as an obfuscating agent to mask her more dark dealings. I will continue watching her as well.

The library and the police station are conveniently located right next to each other. I am known to frequent the library for personal pleasure and thus it would be easy to slip into police headquarters from time to time to pick up information, especially as I have already established contact with both Justine Keaton and Blair Wainwright and am quite friendly with them both.

The best places to conduct secret rendezvous would be either Recurve Strand, a quiet beach far from the hub of activity, or Pleasant Rest Graveyard, during the day. At night it is full of gossipy ghosts and this combined with the obviousness of meeting in a graveyard at night makes it entirely unsuitable for anything secret.

I hope this suits. I await further instructions for my next assignment.

Sincerely,
Hazel Callahan

Instructor's comments:  Ayesha Ansari again!  She seems to have a particular affinity for Team Rubeus, for some reason.  Could it be she suspects she's being observed?  Perhaps the "tomato" was a code word for "rubeus."  It will be interesting to see if any students have further encounters with her.  And Hazel, good job in identifying both potential allies and suspicious characters!

Interesting how so many of the same sims keep appearing. Glad I wasn't the only one who had a bad taste after encountering Jared Frio. :P

Yep. But my sim heard a foreigner screaming about tomatoes, presumably to her. How can she not be suspicious!

Great reading Team Rubeus first assignment. It looks like Ayesha Ansari is the main criminal suspect of Team Rubeus. Looking forward for next update.

First Day of School

The students are arriving!  Ben straightens his tie and hurries out to greet them.

But where's John?

“John couldn't be here.  Some sort of emergency at home.”

“Now, before we get started with our first lecture, I want you to come and see the founders of your three teams.  First, Albus the Intelligencer, known for his expertise in Phrenology.”

Ezagutza:  “Phrenology, hmmm?  But was he a genius?  Did he understand the super powers that I possess?”

Coline:  “He may have been an expert Phrenologist, but I bet he couldn't do this with his hands.”

“Next, Zebediah Sapphire, also known as Bombay Sapphire for his extensive undercover work in India.”

Tomba:  “I think I recognize him!”

Jasper:  “Ho hum.  Can we get on to something more interesting?”

Tomba:  “You shouldn't scoff!  He was a great man.  Many tales are told of his daring exploits.”

“And finally, here is Radical Rubeus, also known as Ruby.  A truly intrepid adventurer.  It is said that she climbed the Matterhorn all by herself one afternoon.  She taught Mata Hari everything she knew.”

Keira:  “I wonder if she wore that hat when she went climbing.”

Hazel:  “A female spy!  I hope I can be worthy of her great legacy.”

Keira:  “Actually, I wouldn't mind having a hat like that.  Think how nicely it would go with my eyes.”

As the students gaze at the founders of their teams, what is the instructor doing?  He seems to have found something interesting to examine too ...

Oh, Keira, I know that you are flirty and are bad with people, but please try to spurn his advances! I know you, and he would hurt you. He wouldn't try to, but he would. If you hook up, drop him before he drops you. Everyone will be happier that way.

Aw Jasper, at least be respectful, even if you are bored! Sheesh, I send that boy off to school and he gets off on the wrong foot with his teammate.

Jasper: <pales> I...I didn't mean anything by it. I'm sorry.

Awesome update. Great to see Tomba there with his teammate. They will have great time in the school. And oh Ben, instead of instructing the students, you are gazing at the female students with your flirty eye.;) Can't wait to see the rest of the school.
