I wouldn't mind waiting.  .  Computer problems are always hard, especially for simmers, since it means less time for simming.

I'm afraid there's been no news of the computer.  It's still languishing on a shelf in the repair shop, patiently waiting its turn.  Not only has the computer not recovered, now I am also having recurring problems with my internet service.  I had a repairman out here twice on Thursday and it seemed ok on Friday, then this morning it's back to being on-and-off again.  Apparently there's some problem with the lines, which are old and due for replacement next Wednesday.  The good news is that the new lines are going to be fibre optics, which they assure me will give warp 7 speed and much more reliable service.  The bad news is, until Wednesday I don't know how much I'll be able to be online.

So as far as computer & connection problems, it seems everything is happening at once here.  Oh well.  I am using the time to plan the interactive story twist I mentioned, and I do think it's going to be a lot of fun!  It's too soon to start yet, with my computer still in the shop for at least another week and a half, but I will tell you that I will be looking for six volunteers, and that the volunteers will need to be able to play a Sim, carry out assignments, submit screenshots, and generally be available and able to participate actively for a couple of weeks.  And, of course, all applicants must have THBL clearance as well.     There - I'll  leave you to contemplate that.

As far as your new project goes , will this require a bit of story writing on our part . I would love to take part but am not a writer and English is not my main language but speak it all the time though . Grammar is my enemy .

There will be writing involved, but I don't mind doing some editing if necessary.  So I wouldn't let any grammar shortcomings deter you from taking part.  If you're ok with me editing what you submit, I'm ok with doing the editing.  Then if there are any problems in the finished product, you can always point out that it's Schipperke who's responsible, not you! 

I love "all this special stuff for our Ben"!  Now you've got me picturing all these tech support guys and maintenance workers scurrying around to fix the problem so Ben Oliver can get back to making the Sim world safe for the good guys again.  I wonder what the maintenance guy would think if I told him that.  He'd probably go back and entertain all his friends with stories about the nutty broad with the houseful of dogs who is on first-name terms with a bunch of characters living in the computer.

I suppose stranger things have been known to happen.  I tell you though, if I met someone who actually reads this story, I'm sure I'd be completely speechless.  Most of the people I know look at me a little oddly when they learn of my Simming habit.  I can't imagine ever trying to explain Mr Payne and Ben to them.

And as for me trying to explain that, dear Wiry ...!  I think that conversation would definitely earn me the title of "eccentric" if not "barking mad" - or even "monster raving loony."  No, I think such matters are best kept between the members of the top-hush, button-lip team.
