I have an inkling about this guest, but I'm keeping silent for now.  :-X

I have no idea who the missing guest is but I'm all agog with curiosity about him and the locked door.  Nice mystery Schipp.

Could you reveal what "segment" of readers will recognize him?

hmmm. Interesting, but not very revealing. I've never been good at this sort of thing, I'll just have to wait and see. Let's recap, male, not exactly the sort to follow rules, but to what extent? And somehow related to the going ons of the forum, Carl and Pam's right? Not the official forum. If you mean the official forum, I think I know, but it you mean this one, I'm clueless.

Carl and Pam's forum, of course.  Is there any other forum?  ;)

I probably shouldn't do this, but ok - here's another clue.  He's a real winner.  And if you think you know who he is, please keep your lip firmly buttoned until after the next update.  :D

Well, in light of this newest clue, I have another suspicion, which I'm fairly confident about. It remains to be seen if either prediction is true, however.

I love this story, but even more than the story I love how you come up with all the great costumes for people to wear Shipperke. You have such a great talent for making sims look interesting, and for me that is a huge part of what makes your story come to life. Keep working!

The Long Road Back, Part V

Diary Entry

I awoke early the next morning and decided to start the day with a steam bath.  I expected to be the only person using the steam bath at that early hour, but to my surprise there was someone there ahead of me.

This must be the guest who had missed supper yesterday.  I introduced myself and asked his name.  "Elvis," he said.  "Elvis Presley*, at your service."

Elvis Presley - I knew that name!  "But I thought you were -" I blurted, catching myself just in time.

"Dead?" he finished my sentence, grinning.  "Yeah, a lot of folks thought that.  They were meant to think it, if you know what I mean.  I just had to get away from the rat race, figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.  And when I got the chance to travel to the world of Sims,  it just seemed like the perfect opportunity to make a fresh start."

I asked what he was doing at the Garden Sanatorium.

"Well, the trip from Dimension H to Sims3 left me feeling kind of disoriented," Elvis said.  "I didn't have any place to go, so I decided to come here while I sort myself out.  It's not a bad place, but man, I wish they'd serve something other than rabbit food.  I've been craving a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich ever since I got here!"

Fried peanut butter and banana.  Food.  I suddenly realized how hungry I was, and I guess Elvis felt the same.  As we headed for the kitchen where breakfast was being served, I sent up a mental prayer to the Watcher for something other than salad.

My prayer was answered.  Breakfast was fruit parfait, which everyone eagerly scarfed down.

Then it was time for my massage with Ronnie.  That young fellow knew what he was doing, and when he finished my muscles felt looser than ever before.

I asked Ronnie if he had been at the Garden Sanatorium very long.

"Nah, not long," he replied.  "I'm just hangin' out here while I earn enough simoleons to get me one of those new houseboats.  And then it's gonna be sun, fun, and girls, girls, girls for Ronnie!"

I casually said, "Last night when I went up to bed, I made a wrong turn and found a locked door.  Do you know what's in there?"

"Medical supplies," he said.  "Least, that's what they tell me.  I'm just the orderly here, you know?  Cook, masseur, jack of all trades.  Sister Mercy is the one in charge, and she makes sure I don't forget it.  Now, we need to talk about your exercise program."

I promised to follow the exercise plan he gave me and strolled off to meet the rest of my fellow patients.

Diary Entry Ends.

Yay -- I guessed it was Elvis, and Joria should be congratulated on the resemblance.

Incidentally, I think Sister Mercy's costume is great. I never would have thought of using the sing-a-gram pillbox hat as a nurse's cap, but it's perfect.

Congratulations to everyone who guessed/deduced that Elvis was the mystery guest!  I was just tickled pink when Joria agreed to let Elvis put in an appearance in the story.  Although Ben may not be so happy about it, but I'm getting ahead of myself here.  You'll just have to wait and see what happens with Ben and Elvis.  ;)

Thank you very much!  It's true that I enjoy playing around in CAS.  Being the world's worst builder, it's about the only thing I can do.  But it's fun, and I do appreciate your comment.  :)

Woah! I got it right! Also, I love how you achieve the costumes so well too. You do a great job on it.
